Sterling Shepard on the sidelines

BleedingBlue2 : 10/3/2022 1:12 pm
With all the talk of Toney and how "invested" he is in the team or the game, not sure if anyone caught the Shepard on the sidelines?

Guy just tore his ACL, very likely ended his career or stint with the team, but was doing everything he could to help his teammates. He was kind of run-hobbling around with a headset in.

Camera showed him after the 2nd TD drive and he was the first person there to celebrate with DJ & Saquon. They showed him coaching up Sills after his drop. When Tyrod went out and Daboll brought the offense together he was right in the middle of it with his teammates.

I came away impressed and seems like a guy trying to contribute in any way he can. You can say what you want about his performance on the field, but the way he carries himself is what you want on your football team.
Kadarious was there

How did I know

The JOKA Bling necklace was very present
Couldn’t agree more.

Shep isn’t going to win a ring here but he’s been a great Giant. I’ll always root for him.

Toney has been at every game supporting the team. This isn't a Sheppard only moment
Shep is going to be a great coordinator in the NFL one day

my guess
Shepard

Is a professional. I’m not sure I can say the same about Toney.
Always been a big fan of Shep's.

Class act and an underrated contributor. Wish him nothing but the best
Shep

... was also waving towels revving up the crowd. He was totally into the game and supporting his team.
He's a great Giant.
I would love for the Giants to keep Shep in some capacity when his

career is over. If not maybe he can move into NY sports media market.

Seems like a great teammate. Shame it couldn't have worked out better on the field.
Shepard has always been a standup teammate and probably

will bleed NYG-blue forever.

Never the issue with him...
Criticism of Shep aside, he has football in his blood practically.

Just look at his pop's history and his. The game means a lot to him and always will, which is more than can be said for Kantankerous Toney.
Well...

Well, Toney is such a good teammate, that he had to be held back from running to Taylor's aid when Taylor got the concussion. I think this might actually make him the best teammate on the team.

Shep has the most Experience on offense with this team

And he's really close with Barkley. It's awesome he is being positive about this. For Toney it's more about getting him on the field to offer something different.

I'm sure Toney wants to get out there too. You don't just "Miss" MNF in primetime. And a Sunday morning game is another primetime game with lots of eyes on it - a national audience.

He's just not ready. If you guys remember , OBJ's rookie year he missed the first 4 games, and I think it was hamstring. I'm not comparing the talent of the players, just the type of athlete they are and the similarity of injury and time of year (OBJ's injury was also from training camp).
Imagine how good and how loved Toney would be

if he had Shep's attitude
Every one assumes

Shep is done with the Giants. What if he signs a cheap 1 year deal to stay another year? Coming off two serious injuries I doubt he'll get any big offers. Why not stay?

We don't need to pay for a mascot. Dude has a great attitude but can't stay on the field

The best ability is availability

I don't remember anyone ever questioning OBJs work ethic or desire to be on the field. Yeah, the boat trip before GB sucked but that was a one off thing and involved a bunch of Giants players
Once a Giant, Always a Giant

Shep strikes me as the kind of class individual who should always be associated with the Giants. Maybe as a coach, maybe the front office, but he has a great work ethic, is smart, is hard working, and he is a Giant.

I didn't call him a mascot.

And if he can stay healthy he's a leader on the team. A cheap 1 year deal is not risky at all.
