and this was a pretty good draft for WRs. he looks even more athletic than i expected. on a good offense he'd be having a justin jefferson rookie year right now, and if pickett plays better than trubisky he still may.
I could see why the Giants passed on him. The player I wanted if we went for a WR was Skyy Moore. Moore was ultimately selected by Kansas City and it will be interesting to see how his career develops versus Robinson.

^This, although we need to give Wan Dale a chance. He was super productive in college.
Pickens had character and injury concerns. I don't blame the new regime for passing him. He didn't appear "smart, tough, and dependable."

Passing on talented play makers is a risk. Pickens was a baller from day one at UGA. Reminded me of AJ Green. I’m a UGA fan so from his freshman year I hoped he’d be a NY Giant. For all the character and injury concerns, he fought back to play in the CFB playoffs last year and made a huge catch.
The fact that Wandale has only played a handful of snaps thus far only adds to my disappointment for not drafting Pickens. Given that everyone knew KG was not long for this team made a Pickens selection a no brainer. Then you throw that we already had 2 slot WRs on the roster.
reads like it was basically guaranteed that Pickens would be a successful draft pick. This happens every year with draft picks: What is obvious isn't always so obvious.
so let's not act like he was this sure-fire prospect to take. He made a great catch last week, but he's got 11/167 yards and 0 TDs.
Let's see this play out a little bit more.
Exactly. Coming off that injury, and with numerous character issues reported...I had no problem with the Giants passing on him during the draft. So, if I didn't have a problem with it then, then I guess I cant have an issue with it now.
The data is in and it’s the larger players that miss more games.
We take a guy with a clean injury history, just so happens to sprain his knee over an injury plagued player and he’s hurt cuz of his size? Thibs just had the same injury and see no one questioning his size.
It’s football, injuries happen. And to speak in absolutes with no sample size is the height of dumbassery.
Sure wish we could say the same about our 2nd round WR draft pick.

Probably because they don't waste 1st and 2nd round picks on tiny slit receivers.

Nice talent, good frame but buyer-beware...
Sounds like the guy who wears #8 here, doesn’t it

Sometimes I wonder about this place.

Many loved him coming out. It's weird we chose Wandale over him. Though I think there's a chance Wandale can still be good. He obviously has talent.
It's four games into his rookie season, he's had a knee injury... are BBIers really figuring he's a bust who will never be any good?
Sometimes I wonder about this place.
But considering Robinson’s size there were a lot of injury risk concerns coming in

Kenny Golladay is 6'4 and has a laundry list of injuries. His career might be over before he's 30. Size doesn't keep players healthy.
Ted Ginn Jr played 14 seasons at WR at "5'11 180". Marvin Harrison played his entire career at "6'0, 179".
Not just the hands, but he put a ridiculous block on a CB (Carter?) yesterday.
