Severino vs. Perez
1-0
And of course, no Perez can pitch around Judge...that is the fault with Judge batting 1st...
Rocco is one POS.
No fear. Just dealing.
This is how Cole should pitch. Attack, attack, attack
Yanks have had six innings to hit in. In five of them they produced DPs.
Dear baby baseball jesus.
Dear baby baseball jesus.
One more in this game and they tie the record.
Taking Sevy out with seven no-hit innings behind him. Have to with a pitch count of 94. Work ahead waiting for him next game.
3-0
Stanton destroys one.
3-0
3-0
The days off might be a good reset for him
You sometimes lose focus with reality. Castro needs to pitch some innings, just getting off the IL.
Getting guys playoff ready supersedes no-no's.

bringing in Castro with a no hitter going sure fits the narrative. About 5 feet from being a tie game.

and Carpenter needs some ABs. There are ways to get what they need.
Not the end of the world but for me another indication that Boone is plug and play with little feel for the moment.

No it doesn't. It just means Castro needs to pitch, just like he tried with Britton and Chapman.
With Marinaccio hurt, they need arms.
Let's nail down this one.

Wouldnt bother me if they tied it. 😎
That is huge.
Ridiculous comment. He's been excellent in every way. Batting .417 in SEP over .500 OBP and playing excellent all around baseball. It's hard to hi HRs, especially when nobody wants to be a foot note to history.
You have always been, and remain, an utter clown and an embarrassment to these threads.
Loved his presser when asked if he would have done it, said "absolutely".
Wow. Just when I thought I might’ve seen the most ridiculous takes on these threads, along comes this one. Congrats you win the prize for most clueless off base post I’ve seen this year.

to avoid an epic choke job. Hate that it reads this way but you can't get that many people wet and then leave them out to dry.

Part and parcel with the comments about Castro giving up the no-no and that Boone was a tool for bringing him into the game, when getting people ready for the post season is paramount.
He's going to have plenty of time off before his next start.

I think he should have given Judge a day off in TOR. Now it's kind of late too. Judge might need those ABs to get his homerun.
Agreed. The Sevy decision was no decision. Dude pitched a gem. Get him out now that he's fully stretched out
No. But does that mean he's on a pitch count in the ALDS as well? Becasue it makes zero logical sense to have him on a count yesterday but then proclaim no limits for the playoffs if injury is a concern, IMO.

Is it really that baffling that they are being very cautious with him?

Did you even pay attention to Boone? Sevy has been off the 60 Day IL for all of two starts before this one. He topped out at 75 pitches in his previous start. His limit in this one to build him up was 90. He was never going to go too far above that. Now he’s up to 90 he can go above 100 in his next start. It is a process building back up, especially considering Seay’s injury history. Why is this so difficult to grasp?

He threw 94 yesterday. That means he can go 100+ next time out.
Went 60ish 1st outing, 75ish 2nd outing and 94 yesterday. That is how they build up the body - no different from spring training. Normal build up is about 15 pitches more each outing until fully stretched, which he is now.
No hitters are cool. I'm sorry it happened this way, but letting him throw 110+ pitches to get the no no would be stupid. Joe Torre took Cone out after 7 no-hit innings in Oakland in 1996 after his return from the aneurysm. Cone was another guy with a history of arm trouble. It was the right decision then, and it was the right decision now.
Put that version of Sevy on ice and unleash it next week. He looks fantastic.
Cole should truthfully start Game 3, but his salary will make them feel like they have to give him Game 1, and they will, so it's moot.
Marinaccio won't be available in the ALDS. So that's another blow to the pen. We're going to need to get creative with German, Taillon and Schmidt to get more outs.

It's not. The point is everybody but Judge is getting maintenance days. Now that the everything is locked up, he should have been giving Judge a few days off down the stretch instead of letting him chase a record. Yeah we all want to see him break the AL record, but having him healthy and available for the postseason is the primary goal, just like Sevy. He's pressing, he clearly needs a day to reset. Seems too late at this point though.
So to me it seems inconsistent to let Judge go do his thing. You can point to the Sevy injury stuff, but there is injury risk there for Judge as well from a foul ball, HBP, etc.
I just want Judge to hopefully hit his damn HR and then let him rest a few days.
