I'm doing some research for work. Do you ever encounter cut-off or take-down notices while watching a stream? If so, what happens next and what do you do?
If you feel like answering, also this question: What would it take for you to pay for and watch legal streams?
I'm not going to cite names or handles, everything anonymous. Might say that I got this information off an NFL team's fan site. Not even going to say which team or site.
But I'll reply to your questionnaire:
- I just refresh if the stream goes down
- I'd pay whatever is cheapest to view NYGs games, be it in person or on TV
Allowing users more options to purchase selective packages at reasonable prices would make me a paying customer. Some examples would be:
Follow one team - 100.00
Follow one Division - 175.00
I would probably pay about $100 for the Giants games. Direct TV got ludicrous...Last time I had it, it was $380 and a lot of the games were blacked out because of network broadcasts. Fucking scam.
My biggest gripe is it’s picture quality isn’t up to par with what it should be and noticeable on bigger TVs (it’s honestly pretty crap and marginally better than illegals). For me it’s worth it not to dick around with streams going down a bunch or need to refresh (which they always do for the most watched games).
Now, it's thank God for Red Zone and Sirius XM radio.

You can watch the entire NFL for 150 a year with international game pass and VPN.
But the Radio broadcasts from Sirius (espec w/ Papa and Banks) are fine if I lose the video.
I grew up in NJ listening to Giants over WNEW and WHAM when I lived in Rochester. (Yup, WHAM carried every Giant game.)
And yes, some rights-holders either view content leakage as a promotion or as not worth the cost to shut it down.
Since I am retired I am far from being well-to-do.
Covid caused most local bars to get rid of Sunday ticket, plus I have a 2 yr old now, so that option is out
The free and legal site is https://ustvgo.tv/ (also linked below) which carries most of the NY channels including Fox-5 NY, ABC-7-NY (good for Monday night Giants games broadcast on ESPN) and YES for Yankees' games. (However you need a VPN to get CBS-2, NBC-4 and some other cable channels.)
NFL+ Premium is an awesome backup plan. You can't watch the games live, but you can watch Giants games shortly after they end. Which means you can see 1 PM games starting at 4:30 PM and 4:30 games just before 8 PM.
NFL+ Premium is only $9.99/mo. or $79 for the year. I wouldn't pay more than that just to have a backup service that was "live". (I can live with a 3 hour delay.)
If NFL+ Premium was not an option I would gladly pay whatever price DirecTV was charging. I just don't want to pay the monthly fee for their service (or for any other service) as we don't watch that much TV and have no trouble getting by on free services like "over-the-air" TV and free Roku channels.

Apparently it's common for people to buy pirated content thinking they're buying from a legit distributor.
If there was an option to pay PER GAME say, up to $10 on a legit site, I totally would.
I do not have a schedule that allows me to catch every game every week so buying a season-long subscription is not viable.
