Odell Beckham Jr. was hanging out with some Giants players today, but he was not meeting with the actual team, according to a source. Nothing happening at the moment between Beckham and the Giants. Beckham isn't expected to be cleared to play until at least November.
We only gave 3M in cap space….how would we even pay his salary if we offered him a contract?
would he just play for the minimum knowing playing time and targets will be here because he would be the clear #1 WR here and say if he went back to the rams he would be like a #3 or #4 option?
He could built up his value and then sign a bigger deal in the offseason if he performs well.
He's not going to be ready to play any time in the immediate future, but if the Giants could find a way to fit him back in for late in the year into next season, I'd be on board. We need WR help badly.
I feel we have the proper leadership now and that Beckham is probably at a point in his career where a lot of the antics we saw 6-7 years ago would be an afterthought.
It feels like a long-shot and more fantasy than reality, but... hey, the idea is exciting.
The smart play for him is to heal up, then sign with a playoff contender for the final few months, and do exactly what he did last season - try to win another ring, and hopefully not rip his knee up again. Then explore free agency for his next big contract. Even if we had the money to afford him, him signing here would be idiotic for him.
today during his press conference, Daboll was pressed by the reporters for adding new players at WR. Twice Daboll said they would use their Practice Squaders first.
Would love to have him back. Just don’t see how it happens. He is not healthy and will not be until likely the last month or so. There is no point coming here at this stage. Go to a contender

Which is expected. They’re not going to sign Odell; there’s no money to anyway and this team, as it’s currently constructed, likely isn’t what he wants. That’s why there are rumors about him talking with Green Bay. He wants to fall into the right situation or, at least elevate the right one where he sees a vacuum.
and that was before his latest injury. Don't think it makes much sense for him or us.
Um, evidence of this claim? People really don't understand how friggin'good OBJ was with the Rams last season all the way to the Super Bowl, which he scored in.
And I’m talking about now, even with him rehabbing.
He’d get 20 targets a game here once he returns, even if he’s 70% of the player he was.
The current WR talent is JV level, so if his goal is to get stats, he’d do that here.
The question is how badly does he want to win another ring.
When did Giants fans lose their minds?
I've seen this all over social media.
A rehabbing Beckham is not better than any current Giants receiver who can actually put on a uniform on game day. To say otherwise is moronic. If you can't play, you're not better than someone else.
What's the deal with Giants fans wanting old players to return from an era when the team sucked? Nostalgia for losing?

the evidence is that he averaged 96 catches and 14 ypc his first 3 seasons. Last year he had 44 catches at 11 ypc. Still a good player. It's a tribute to him that he can lose half a step (or more) and still be a good player. If we were a contender with cap space I'd say sign him. If he could do what he did 2014-2016 I'd say sign him. But neither is true IMO.

I was exaggerating SLIGHTLY. But there is no doubt that once he’s back, He’s better than anyone currently playing WR for the NYG.
Of that there is no doubt.
I’m not necessarily advocating for him, just stating a fact - a 70% OBJ is better than what we have now.
same. the fact that it wasn't an official visit and he put it out there makes me think he may be trying to build some hype.
ill say this, i thought he was shot in cleveland but watching baker destroy dj moore's career has convinced me OBJ's dad was right.
OBJ’s Dad was right. Mayfield is awful. Landry and Beckham were more productive on their prior teams until they teamed up with Mayfield. Moore had a solid connection with Darnold last year. Not that Darnold is great, but if Rhule wants to keep his job he better put Darnold in when his ankle is ready to go. I read Baker’s QBR is 15.8 through four games. He’s a complete bust.

Completely intellectually dishonest. His time with the Browns was irrelevant except for the fact that he highlighted how much Baker Mayfield sucks at football. The man was getting open. Goes to L.A., takes a week to learn the playbook, and then balls out with a competent QB throwing him the ball down the stretch and through the playoffs. I saw it, he was excellent. He was about as uncoverable as ever.
Wasn’t there always rumors of bills wanting him back wen giants were shopping him?
Bring Odell home.

Who doesn’t at this point? Lol.
I’d love to see it happen. They need the help and, the popcorn factor is just so choice.

Can he still do that

He had 5 TD’s for the Rams last year. Your argument about him not being the player he once was before his injury in the Super Bowl doesn’t hold water.

Still fun to think about though.
That’s comparing apples to celery. But carry on..
She followed this up with “he could’ve visited former teammates in their houses”
Glad you are amused and getting clicks Josina

He is using the Giants as leverage
Yeah, and she reported there is basically a lovefest that still exists between the Rams and OBJ.

No. As i said, i was just stating a fact.
Though i can’t imagine he’d cost a whole of money with 4 games left (vet minimum /4?).
That is definitely possible
Makes sense, especially the more the Rams struggle.
Let's face it, LA and OBJ were made for each other...
