Free agent QB Jake Fromm is among #Giants workouts today. Team on the lookout for potential passing depth in light of QB injuries.
but, not surprising he was on the Bills practice squad at one point under Daboll.
Jones most likely out this weekend.
IMO Jones is likely out two weeks at least. This is reminiscent of when he hurt his hamstring two years ago and they rushed him back for the game vs Arizona and he was a shell of himself and the Giants got hammered.

My point being I do think they will be much more careful this time around.
Jake Fromm under Daboll/Kafka may look much different than Jake Fromm under Judge/Kitchens/Garrett. Plus, he'd be the emergency QB behind David Webb, not starting (at least not yet).
so that won't be a problem here. Of course his strength is the kneel down so not something we can take advantage of until the end of the game (unless your coach is Joe Judge).
If 40 times are any indication, Webb is easily the fastest of the bunch, and he's a slug. With Jones limited, Taylor concussed, and Webb the best of the rest, the read option and naked boot are largely out the window. The RPO is still feasible, though you have to worry about the QB getting hit behind this line.
If you recall he ran the 2 minute drill and dropped a beaut into Golliday's hands and got use very close to a fast TD. Golliday may like this as Fromm has his eyes on Kenny the entire time.
I mean it's not a great scenario but Fromm is decently smart but has a weak arm. Scouts liked him for his scanning ability. I think a Daboll offense is better with a more scanning pocket passer. watching the trick plays from last 4 games
could get more out of Fromm than Judge's staff did, but I still don't think he'd be much help out there. In my opinion, he doesn't have the arm needed to play at this level.
of running Jason Garrett's Woody Hayes offense. Daboll knows what Fromm can and can't do, he's a better fit for Daboll's scheme. Not saying he's a long term solution, but any port in a storm.

Wasn't Kitchens effectively the OC by the time Fromm was on the roster?

Good point, but it wasn't like Kitchens was able to redesign the offense in a couple of weeks. Plus, he's Freddy Kitchens!

I wouldn't say that yet. See Daboll's comments yesterday on the workouts.
I would rather get our five fastest skill players on the field and wildcat it Sunday rather than Fromm.

Why not! We need “insurance “. He’ll be there to file injury claims 😉

Odell Beckham throws a pretty sharp deep ball. We should work him out at QB
Careful...that kind of thinking could get us Mike Glennon again.

- Matt Barkley, who would require a minimum commitment because he's on Buffalo's practice squad;
- Brian Lewerke, who was with the Giants this spring as a camp arm;
- Jake from State Farm.
Forget Fromm's stint with the Giants. He's on the list because of his time with the Bills. As a one-week insurance policy, he makes perfect sense.
Don't exactly like that this is an option for us but last year isn't the reason why.

I was going to post the same.

have Barkley back there. In fact, I'd rather have anybody else back there.

Glennon was just as awful, but prior to his stint with the Giants he was a decent backup and almost competent.
*Glass shatters*
BAH GAWD THAT'S ELI MANNING'S MUSIC!
