"Something worth noting: a lineup featuring RJ Barrett, Reddish, and Jalen Brunson was used last week while Grimes and Fournier were sidelined. It will be interesting to see if New York looks at that lineup during the preseason. "
"
Given Grimes’ foot soreness, you’d assume that Fournier has an edge in the competition for starting shooting guard. Thibodeau said last week that Fournier was the 'front-runner' for the job. If/when Grimes is healthy, I’d expect him to get consideration for the starting role. But he has to get on the floor first, obviously. There is no indication that his foot injury is significant. "

I think a big factor in this season needs to be determining what they have in Toppin, Quick and Reddish ( probably in that order).
Reddish will be a RFA this offseason and IQ/ Obi will be extension eligible. Because if they aren't in their future plans, they need to be moved while they still have some trade value.
Hartenstein would likely fit that 4 some better. He's a strong rim protector but on offense is excellent as a facilitator for a big which obviously isn't Grimes forte (if he sees time at PG, which I tend to doubt with Rose/IQ here) but we shall see.

Thibodeau said Knicks will limit minutes in the preseason opener tonight. Slightly tighter rotation in the first half and then more guys in the second, but said he wouldn’t use a “normal rotation.”
I'd love to watch, but gotta carve out time for games when the real bullets start flying so the wife doesn't visit a divorce attorney. 8 PM, Netflix...'How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days' with the wife. Pray for me.

Judging by the movie she’s picked, she’s already getting that into motion. May as well watch hoops
Brunson is going to be an all star, he is just controlling the game, never out of control, effecient..
Knicks would be fine if they traded Randle and Fournier..
Randle is a cancer on this team. I think we may need to bite the bullet and attach picks.
Just dont need him, what is his value if he is not dominating the ball? he is not going to defend, his jumoer is so-so, he is a glorified rebounder on this team..
which they probably will, Tonight is the type of game you want to see, effecient, rarely dominated the ball, deferred to Brunson, took good shots in flow of the offense..Rebounded and played defense..Thats what you wanted to see..
Having said that i would still trade him..
I think Fournier gets dealt before the season starts, he sticks out like a sore thumb
Isn't Randle the teams best rebounder?

Team passed well tonight. Lots of assists.
strongest player on the court and always sits at the 3 point line. never cuts and never posts. he is a detriment. they have real pieces. he needs to be traded so the ball moves consistently
Move the ball, play team basketball. Every night isn't going to look like this, obviously. However, we don't need a star to be competitive. Moving the ball on offense is so simple yet so few teams do it. Just getting your hands on the ball makes a world of difference in a player's game. They are more invloved and more focused. Defensive intensity picks up. I had 0 complaints about Randle today. It wS fun seeing basically everyone produce. The ball was barely stagnant. On defense they were sloppy but that is to be expected. It wasn't really a lack of effort as it was just getting to know your teammates. The rotations were off so there is a lot of work to be done there but there were also a great deal amount of blocks, steals, and hands on the basketball. The only thing to worry about after this game is Thibs' health. He looks like he gave up on life.
RE: This game is exactly what I have been asking for.
I'm cold on Quickley. I'd easily send him out in a package.
I am on the other side with IQ. I think he's the best of the trio or at least the safest pick of the trio (Obi, Grimes and IQ) but I can see why people are a little weary since he's a streaky player. To me he's kid that has done the most in the biggest of spots, that doesn't mean he's going to be a legit star/rotational player on a good team but if I am betting, it's on IQ. I'd trade him but only in a no brainer package. Curious to see how he does in year 3 with more backcourt help around him.
Riley and then Spoelstra, Miami will have back to back HOF coaches. Wild.

I love his skill set but he can’t always be missing time
Will it still be hockey shifts or will there be mixing and matching..
style of play, run and gun and move the ball or iso Randle and Rj..
defensively how will they hold up, especially Brunson and Fournier..
Who steps up this preseason where it makes you change your view of this team, Cam?

I personally probably would. Are the Lakers getting a better package than that this year ?

Cam making Fournier look very expendable so far
Best player on the floor

Welp, that didn’t take long…
RJ 21 5 and 2 8/14 shooting
Randle 15 6 and 4 6/10 shooting
Not bad and very good effeciency
I like Deuce, it's not clear to me that IQ is better than him. Different players of course.

Maybe it is killing him to coach the team as you wish... :-)
Seriously, just a preseason game but they looked pretty good tonight.
McBride played more than the minutes I will post but I am pretty sure he got his 6th steal after like 18 min of playing time. That's just fuckin nuts.
Jaden Ivey was pretty damn impressive, kid looks like he’s going to be a legit scorer.
I'm cold on Quickley. I'd easily send him out in a package.

What is McBRide? Is he more a 2 or can he play 3?
The guy I want to move is Fournier but he's the only pure shooting guard we have really, unless Grimes is that guy.
Is McBride more a 3? SO many of these 2-3s....really wish we did a 2 or 3 for 1 move.
There seems to be some confusion about this. McBride is definitely not a 3. He's 6'1". Perhaps the question was intended to be about Grimes.
