Aggressive Defense that wins = home field advantage. Considering all the reasons to not go to games anymore forcing fans to be quiet in 2022 wouldn't work well for the NFL.
John Madden was so great I think he's underrated at this point. Most people who watch NFL games now probably never saw him in his prime.
Last Sunday the Giants got called for an illegal offense lineman down field and TV showed one replay that "Moose" Johnson ignored while he talked about the defense learning to trust their eyes. Whatever the hell that means.
I was thinking to myself if John Madden was doing this game, he would've drawn a line on the field with his Telestrator showing the line of scrimmage and another line that if it was crossed would be a penalty and told us which OL and how far over the line he went. From the replay they showed it didn't look to me that any of the Giants OLs were too far downfield. Did anyone catch what happened on that play?

I believe it was Feliciano, he was maybe 3 yards downfield, it was very close. But you're right about Moose, not only did he miss that, when Jones got hurt they didnt talk about it till he went to the bench, meanwhile at the game the whole stadium saw that he was hurt after that hit.
encouraged players to concuss themselves and others with impunity!
That said, when the crowd was on, that stadium rocked! The last few weeks is as loud as I remember MetLife ever being, but the open bowl design just doesn't stack the density of sound that the old place did!
There will never be another John Madden

Funny how the league was softer in this regard back then.

Also, John Madden: "If you know what refrain means you shouldn't be a football fan." 😂
