GB in London, home vs. Ravens, @ Jags, & @ 'Hawks.
We're going to be significant dogs in two of them (Pack & Baltimore) & the other two are frisky & will be @ home. I'm not entirely shocked about the Jags because I thought Pederson would do wonders for Trevor, but am surprised the 'Hawks are 2-2 & Geno is looking like he has thus far this season.
Being 4-4 @ the bye would feel like a letdown come the 3-1 sugar high, but as most of us acknowledge: this wasn't a really good football team even before the injuries, which are starting to comically mount. This coaching staff is coaching their asses off, but @ the end of the day-to use a Rolle expression-I fear our lack of talent will be exposed when we play some big boy teams like the Packers & Ravens. I think a split of Jax & Seattle is entirely doable. Of course I'd love to be proven wrong & we're 5-3 or hell 6-2 @ the break (7-1 & I'd be driving Daboll 10/31), but I'm trying to be a realist.
and two tough games coming up
that being said, , i do think 4-4 may be realistic will will win one more close game
as long as we are close in q4 and have a chance, all I can ask for in 2022
I d be disappointed in a 1-3 record in these next 4 games
Also, I never bought this idea that this team was a 3-4 win team. Vegas had their over/under at 7 for a reason and they are usually on the mark. I was listening to Boomer Esiason say he thinks the Giants will go 2-11 the rest of the way. Wtf?
NFL games are close. Good head coaches manage games to win which Daboll has shown he can do well thus far. The Giants have the following games on their schedule: Seahawks, Texans, Lions, Commanders x2 & Colts. Every one of those games is winnable. Every one. And they will lose one of them no doubt, but they can also steal a game against someone else.
And before someone brings up missed field goals and muffed punts, that happens in every game. All these games are close. 3-1 is 3-1.

Boomer is rarely objective about the Giants anymore

I’ve been saying that. Considering where this franchise has been, 4-4 is fantastic.

Yep. And then he went over the Jets schedule and had them at 9-8. At least be fair.
We'll be underdogs in at least 3. So yeah 1-3 is a reasonable call.
GB has flaws- this is the same team that almost lost at Lambeau to a depleted Pats squad with Bailey Zappe at QB.
Baltimore is the toughest draw, but has also been riddled by injuries - I'll be interested if the familiarity between Wink and the Ravens provides an advantage either way.
Jacksonville- a tough game that not many of us saw coming. It's too soon to say they are consistently a good team- we may get the Jags team we saw in the Colts/Chargers game, or we may get the version we saw week 1 vs Washington and in the second half vs Philly.
Seattle- IMO this team has overachieved a bit on the offensive side of the ball. The 49ers are the only good defense they've faced and they looked awful. I do think the Giants have a good defense that can create similar issues for Seattle's offense- even at Lumin Field.
I thought if we could go 4-4 through the first 8 it was more likely than not we’d made the playoffs considering schedule and another new offensive system. You really only need 9 wins these days.
I worked with a guy from WV, and I’d bet that most New Yawkas didn’t know that “all y’all” is plural for y’all. Way to slip that educational bit of trivia in, Matt.
The Offensive line is a mess right now, they are a Rashad Bateman injury away from having a WR room nearly as bad as ours.
Defense is opportunistic on turnovers, but otherwise really, really sloppy.
Though I like the 7-1 as a fan.
I be disappointed if they don't come out 2-2.
Great point above about the 20 pts. The D has given up 17.8 pts/game. This has been a very big key with our O limitations.
I d be disappointed in a 1-3 record in these next 4 games
Realistically, it's a tough schedule but hopefully optimistic has to be at least 2-2...right?

yep, spot on Jerry...
Who said that? Strawmen are not convincing arguments ...
Did you really think through this before posting the above?
Barkly has been exciting to watch. Sexy Dex has been a star. The defense has been playing hard. Jones and the rest of the offense has made it a combination of frustrating and interesting.
I just hope for progress. Improving Offensive line - especially the young guys. Improving TE squad. Improving Edge rushers. Feisty play from the LBs, CBs, and safeties. Continuing improvement by the rookies.
I am not holding out hope for the WRs -- unless the additions, if any, that come in can step up. That's a poor group.
If I see steady improvement - it will make me happy, because games and following the players will be more interesting.
That's where I'm at right now. 3-1 exceeded expectations!

Since when is 1-3 "hopefully optimistic?!"

Lol, guy was the biggest liar and instigator on this board. Missed he got banned to but I’m sure it was warranted.

He really was an odd guy that made lying a key part of his posts
Is this like one of those liar paradox thingies?
