Yom Kippur Thougts:
What we're essentially looking at is a strictly limited in mobility Daniel Jones vs. a guy who has only played in one NFL game in his entire career, Davis Webb. That's what makes me so nervous about Sunday. Even the most ardent Daniel Jones supporter can't say that he wins games with his arm rather than his legs. Will a strictly pocket-passer Daniel Jones be enough to overcome the Packers? I lean towards no and that scares the hell out of me.
Not really the question that was asked, but no surprise that it goes there.
To the OP, you re probably correct, but there s 4 + days before kick off.
Didn't think the Giants had much of a shot in this game anyway.
Yes, that was one of the Tua aspects less commented upon and kind of shocking but not at all surprising: neurologists pretty uniform in view that you do not fly in hours (or even days) post head trauma.
If he's relatively healthy (and mobile), then obviously it's a no-brainer.
That's a terrible idea. Numb the ankle so he makes moves on it he shouldn't, exacerbating the injury. I'd rather he sit for a week.
Should he start? I have no freakin clue.
You have no clue on how bad his ankle is.
Those that say the drop off from DJ to Webb is not huge - but the guy has never thrown an NFL pass. You are making assumptions from a preseason game where his teammates and opponents are either on a practice squad or out of a job. Look at what a disaster Glennon/Fromm was last year - if DJ can do enough to be effective and it isn't at huge risk of making it worse you have to start him.
It's why some of us were screaming to keep Webb as 3rd QB at the very least he's in the room/practicing which could have made a difference. I mean its not like we have an iron man QB like Eli or backup QB.
Quote:
He should play. If he isn't he should sit. If him and Tyrod are for some reason both available, I'd still want a 3rd QB active just in case.

Webb is on the practice squad - so he is still in every meeting, film session, etc.

You need to stop screaming that.
Webb IS the third QB. He IS IN THE ROOM.
Come on guys, pay attention.
Judging by your post it appears that you believe...
1. Anyone who is critical of Daniel Jones "hates" him
2. No one should be critical of a professional athlete unless they can take his place and play just as well
If Jones is healthy, he plays.
