Considering how much DJ has been hit / sacked the other linemen must really be shitting the bed on pass blocking.
The interior OL has been getting roasted. This offense is still new and these guys aren't 100% comfortable with it yet (although you can see they are starting to get more comfortable each game with the scheme). Combine that with below average wide receivers with WanDale and Toney not playing and Sheperd going down and pass blocking becomes an issue. You have two new guys inside plus Bredeson splitting time the 1st two games with Ezeudu, and on top of that a rookie at RT (which isn't helping Glowinski at RG). Luckily they have been having much more success run blocking than prior years, hopefully they start to gel a bit more. Feliciano seemed better last week, maybe he's getting healthier. They just have to keep jelling and improving.
but Barkley has a stud LT and as long as those two are on the field, the rushing numbers will continue to pile up here.
Weather the storm the next month or so. Hang around, keep fighting and keep these games close and watch this team fight for a playoff spot. Just need some guys back and I don't think that's a pipe dream.

Is seeing things well imv. Interior is making some plays and that is helping. Once that interior is addressed either in house of back to the draft (they should add more regardless) the Giants are going to be a good offense with just solid WR's. It sets up very nicely to add a rookie QB if one is available they like and they move on from Jones.
Barkley was the 20th rated HB in football this year. It is amazing to me how people just blindly cite it. Andrew Thomas has been great, but the best player in football? Barkley the 20th best half back in football?
“They had their pick of every single offensive tackle in the draft last year, and they picked Andrew Thomas, who was by far the worst one. The worst. The. Worst.”

I still don’t think this team is fighting for a playoff spot at the end of the year, but your first sentence is why I’d resign Barkley if the price is reasonable. Or even at a higher price tag on a shorter deal. If Neal reached even 75% of his ceiling and we can solve the QB, WR and even one of the interior line spots we can have an elite offense with Kafka and Daboll at the helm
franchise LT in my lifetime. This is exciting - especially after having to watch the likes of Jason Peters, Trent Williams, Tyron Smith on our rivals the past decade.
It only took 3 first round picks, and the awful Solder deal lol
They had some guy on the other day, a guest of Pat Kirwan
I forget the guests name, but he was going on and on about Andrew Thomas. About how he has separated himself, by a wide margin over the other tackles in the league. Pretty amazing to hear someone not affiliated with the team rave about a Giants player.

Thanks Johnny5 - agree with your post particularly hopeful that they can gel this year (maybe I am getting my hopes up too much).
that I wish Riddick got the job instead. The fact that he was a top candidate was a major red flag.
Let's be honest, he wasn't actually a top candidate. He was available for an interview at the time when the Giants were rushing to complete the process so they could anoint Resume Dave while still satisfying all NFL executive hiring protocols.
There was only one "top candidate" for GM in 2017-18. Every other candidate was purely for optics.
Louis Riddick
@LRiddickESPN
What bothers me is when people don’t pay attention when people (like me) admit that the player has improved dramatically since then (which I did on TV months ago) and I didn’t factor in circumstances that led to his rough start (which I should have known better). It happens.

He’s got a point. We’ve seen it from certain poster(s) the past couple of days. It’s ok to change your opinion when new information is presented. It’s true Thomas wasn’t good his first year, but is turning into an elite LT. Progression isn’t linear.
Player in the league, the highest graded defender in the NFC (Lawrence), the best RB in the league, one of the better all around IDL in Williams, an emerging star at safety in McKinney, and a top cover corner in Jackson. Plus Ojulari looks like a 10 sack guy when healthy. I haven’t even mentioned our #5 and #7 overall picks yet, or any of the other rookies.
RE: RE: RE: and Riddick still isn't a GM at present
Why? Was he talking shit about him a few years back?
Ohhh this!!!! Riddick is a hack

I may be wrong here but didn’t Riddick also say that Dwayne Haskins should haven been the #1 pick.

Correct. Not only above DJ, but Kyler Murray as well

Below average WR's? The worst I've seen
But we should trade him for future draft picks. ;-)

Likely an old bbi poster.
It was an absolute fucking relief to know we have Jumbo Elliot to shut down nightmare Bruce Smith, like knowing Sehorn would shut down Irving.

Not since Jumbo Elliott.

in fairness, can you ever really truly evaluate any player who goes to Washington. Not necessarily the safe haven for QB's
