if its 50/50, that typically never means that a player is going to go. Especially with a long travel game.
Didn't make sense to send him there.
It’s pretty simple, really. He practiced yesterday, obviously felt good afterward and they wanted to see how his knee responded the next day. Which is today. You guys having your panties in a bunch because they took him is very strange. Did he take your seat or something?
Have you guys ever flown 1st or business class overseas?
Hes not like scrunched up in a ball on the plane. And NFL travel is probably nicer than that.
Exactly. And I’m not sure why people thinking sitting on a plane is going to be that debilitating anyways. The guy doesn’t have arthritis for cryin out loud. At least I hope it’s not arthritis
It would have to be more Barkley than last week. You would think the Giants wouldnt want Jones to run as much as he did in last week's game plan and reinjure his ankle
Flea flicker appearance this week perhaps, and a bunch of screens to tight ends and receivers and Barkley
BBI: You idiot, there is no sense in not bringing him!
Nobody is saying that the Giants did not have a legitimate reason for bringing Wan'Dale, but there is also a reason why injured players don't travel with the team.

I dont understand why this is even a talking point. The doctors and coaches have all the information there to make their choices. We have nothing to second-guess it with.

It is one thing to say we leave our OUT players home and why not Wan'Dale then. It could mean multiple things, something happened on the plane, they were not sure etc. That inquiry leads to questions for the coach and maybe an answer or two.
The other take, which is "have you ever been in business class or first class" as if taking an injured athlete is ideal in "those conditions," is a completely absurd take given that virtually every injured player stays home for a variety of reasons, including all of our definitely out players for this game.
Bottom line: what happened between takeoff and going directly to the practice field that changed. Seems like a legitimate inquiry to me.
they need bodies at WR even if they are barely JAGs.

No one plays hurt anymore. The Union doesn’t want it. The team doesn’t want it. The players don’t want to because playing hurt devalues their stats and affects their next contract. Better to sit out.
Except for the most minor of injuries, almost every injury is at least 2 games missed, more likely 3 or 4 weeks. You are right that they should use IR and get replacement bodies in there until they get injured.

RE: Hopefully we sit long enough to get him healthy
This is not the year to rush guys back. This is a year clear out the system and get a look at the young guys.
We do not want him working through a nagging injury all year. We want him playing at full strength.
Our whole operation seems to be pretty smart. They know that this year is not about wins and losses. So I have a reasonable amount of confidence that they'll do the right thing in these situations
It s always about wins and losses. What varies is the extent to which a FO is willing to go for short term gain. In this regard I agree, Giants are not, nor should they compromise future assets.
Getting Robinson on the field should be a priority, he needs to be evaluated
I have no idea what's going with Toney and I'm not sure I want to know. Stuff happens with draft choices and sometimes they don't work out. Sometimes they get injured a lot early and then become good players. I will pay attention the next time I find out an hour before the game that he's active.
Robinson has a soft tissue injury, probably an MCL. The standard with these injuries is you push your exercise level up to a point and then wait until the next day to see if you get sore. If you're sore, then you need more time. Coaches always say, "yes, he practiced today but let's see how he is tomorrow", and they're right.
What almost certainly happened here is they thought he was close enough, brought him on the plane, and then it turned out he got sore. He needs another week. It isn't "his fault" or "the turf" or "the training staff. Frustrating, totally different situation from Toney, and we just have to wait. It sucks.

Outside of the plane ride it’s actually very similar to Toney.
draft fragile china doll midgets to play Wide Receiver? And this is nothing new. Perhaps they should have strapped him on a gurney and placed him in the cargo hold for the trip over.
They could literally play 8 in the box and man our 3 WR set. This would stop the vaunted Barkley/TE offense from last week. I hope BD has got something downfield setup for GB - something up his sleeve. Can Bellinger run the seam route.
i don't know why you guys are freaking out over this. He sprained his knee pretty good and he's basically going to miss 4-5 games. That's normal. And he's a rookie that they feel strongly about. No reason to rush him back.
We do nothing but shit on players here, except for, apparently, making insistent excuses and calls for patience if we like a player.
Or conversely, and to your point, ignore every other factor making insistent excuses and calls to get rid of him and he sucks if we don't like a player.
Still a good experience and plenty he can learn along the way. I think it'd be good to have him in all the meetings and good to let him see how the procedure goes for professionals. It's just a seat on the plane and a hotel bed.
You don't start rushing guys back from injury until its all hands on deck. Sprained knees generally are a 4-6 week injury. Sounds like he's on pace to play next week. And we need him because the Ravens secondary stinks and we need at least someone to take advantage.
RE: RE: Have you guys ever flown 1st or business class overseas?
criticisms are in jest (comparing to Toney), but to be clear these are two different kinds of guys in terms of intangibles; one has all the good ones (be patient with him; he is a top notch kid) the other seems to be happy with his RD1 contract and doesn't feel it necessary to actually play
My buddy works for UK football program and knows WR well. Speaks very highly of him as a person. Zero character concerns with him. If he's not playing, then he is really injured. Couldn't keep him off the field otherwise.
Crazy how easy people believe players "fake" injuries.
These guys get checked out by team doctors who answer to the front office.
No, I'm not acting weird for assuming players way tougher and more accustomed to physical hardship than I ever could tolerate are just playing sick. It's clearly them being lazy.

I agree. It’s a long season and that’s a serious injury. Hold him out.

No. No it really isn’t. Actually, it’s the polar opposite.
The only guy that doesn't care scout football is Toney, are you one that disagrees with that? Because it's a j8je to not think it. Robinson is a fufferent case altogether and will get to prove it this season. You are clueless if you think Toney is a football player. This staff has not handled the wide reciever room well at all. It's the only fuck up, but it's a fuck up.

No, I'm not that rich.
man wanted a free trip to London, probably.

Sixth year in the league. What has he done that's worth talking about?

Snakes?
Couldn't he have drafted those two without making the "boo boo in round 2"? And maybe we can wait until Beavers plays a single down in the NFL?
His size caused an opponent to fall into his knee?
Clearly doesn't care about football
Yeah, but he actually got hurt by making a play and getting crunched..
Well, outside of slayton he would be the most prolific scoring WR we have that "could" dress Sunday.
Daniel better step up and make plays! ;-)

When Wan'Dale is on his 10th injury in just 1 and a quarter seasons, I will agree with you.
Man, the way other players on this team who haven’t even been here 12 month get shit on is wild.

Yes, but if Daniel Jones didn't suck he would elevate them!
I'm genuinely curious what you mean by this.

If he can play - you run him. He's not a franchise qb yet to protect.
They flew on an Airbus A350 to London, so it's a standard commercial aircraft, but a large and spacious one at that.

100% agree….plus he is an awesome ST returner. Not sure why he can’t be elevated….I wonder if he flew with the team.
Football is a tough game and we have 2 pussy WRs
Robinson is not looking like a good pick at this point with legit zero ROI from a 2nd rounder not good
