Will Jason Pinnock keep Landon Collins Inactive?

In a game where their starting FS is injured, and there is a huge need for more depth in the Secondary, Pinnock is inserted into the game, plays well, gets 1.5 sacks and seems very fast. If Collins couldn't play last week, has he fallen behind JP in the depth chart?

Pinnock looked good IMO. I'm worried about Belton...he was a huge liability vs. Houston.

Belton is a 4th round pick

You have to have realistic expectations of what these guys can do as rookies. Replace worry with understanding. 4th round guys need development.

Collins is a LB

1st game starting. He will see what he did wrong in film. He will be fine.

LC is a more linebacker. but i did expect to see him more against the run heavy texans.

Big Blue Banter will break down defensive tape tomorrow. Interested to see how Pinnock, Belton, J.smith, and Micah did.

Issue with Belton is his lack of athleticism. Smart player but easily exposed

Replace ‘Jason Pinnock’ with ‘Micah McFadden’ in the OP.

That’s the current trend: McFadden taking snaps from Crowder and Collins, though it probably depends on the opponent.

The other problem at ILB is that the Giants are stuck paying Austin Calitro to run with the scout team.

college eligibility, every pick after round 2 has to be upgraded a round (a 4th is a 3rd).

and replacing Belton for time being, until McKinney can come back? That’s the question. Pinnock May be better as Free Safety or third safety depth along with Belton. Belton is a liability right now, but needs some play time to get experience too. Not sure how Collins would fit into Winks D as a SS, but he was a very good SS here previously.

Was terrible, but he is getting playing experience that can come in handy down the stretch. The Giants need Belton to develop now that McKinney is out probably for the season. Belton can get exposed, he got exposed, hut experience can easily make up for speed or athleticism. Can he get enough experience to help down the stretch. I hope so because they are going to need him.

He was advertised as a ball hawk. However he took several bad angles and poor tackles that gave up a lot of yards.
As others have said, give him a season or two before giving up on him.

Belton was horrible Sunday save one play.
