Huge road win for the Kaynixxx
I had a feeling they would bond together and pick up the intensity on D
I like the 9 man rotation without Fournier
He is a great shooter and can be used as such or traded...but not in the rotation
I like that Thibbs has rewarded Reddish with more playing time, he is really coming into his own playing under Thibs. He’s been playing great D and probably the best on the team driving to the basket.
I do hope they find minutes for Grimes. As much as I like Rose and appreciate what he has done for the team since coming here, it may be time to give his minutes to Grimes.
Has turned into our best wing defender. I'm really happy for him, and the team. It's like the light switch finally turned on. Just slightly better shot selection, and he should be on his way. To be fair, he's been much better of late (shot selection). Keep 'growing', young man.
The idea Grimes went from the least tradeable of the young guys to out of the rotation is crazy. I personally think there is more to his foot injury than has been announced, but if not, that is bad internal management on many levels.
I am not really a believer in Reddish but good for him that he's getting minutes and producing. I do think Grimes injury persists and its ruining his season so far. Its a shame because I think he is the best player under 25 on the team.
This team really doesnt even need Randle's scoring
I think it was the end of the OT game with the Hornets - Knicks were diving all over the floor and I noticed Cam not go after a ball. Glad to see his development now - it seems he has bought in on D and hit athleticism is off the charts.
And Brunson’s ability to create shots in the paint among the bigs is amazing. He was awesome in the 4th last night!
I never root for losses especially with the Knicks lord knows I have seen more loss than any fan should but every win it justifies Thibs and his wacked out rotation.
Barrett is obviously sick last night and looked like he was sick but plays
37 minutes
Obi is crashing the boards, moving the ball and hot from 3
18 minutes.
Hartenstein is getting destroyed defensively
22 minutes.
Randle was up and down all night, isn't playing good defense and getting killed on the boards
31 minutes.
I know Thibs is big on analytics and it's all feel and watching film but I don't know what he is watching..

My sense about Thibs over the last year or so is he realizes that Randle is the closest thing to an all star he has on the squad...and as such Thibs has hitched his wagon to Julius...
We know he is too stubborn to change or toncare what we think...so he will either succeed or go down with the Randle ship
IHart is a good back up 5 who can pass and stretch the D.
Sims isn't ready for more minutes..
So.until Mitch comes back this is what we got
Randle apparently led this players only meeting so the team respects him at the alpha dog.
I am all for more minutes for Obi...but Thibs is gonna be Thibs
Thibbs giving Randle a lot of minutes because there are not too many guys that can average 20-10-5, and when he is on his game he helps the team being on the floor.
But I wish he would get Toppin more minutes. They can go small with Randle at the five or play big and let Obi steal a few minutes from RJ and have him play SF. He just needs to look for look for the right matchups to take advantage of them.
Also when Randle is struggling and Obi is hot then my goodness stay with the hot hand.
But I’m not as down on Thibbs as many of you, I don’t long for a string of horrible coaches like we have lived through prior to Thibbs. I think it all works itself out and they figure it out.

I agree about Thibs...he is a top notch coach. That said if the team doesn't improve, especially on the Defensive end,I think he will be gone.
But I do think he can coach...and the guys seem to like him too
I completely disagree. He isn't a top notch coach. Far from it.
He does good changing the culture of a new team when he comes in but he loses that luster fairly quickly. Good coaches adapt. He doesn't. He keeps slamming his head in the wall no matter what. It's beyond frustrating. He's not a bad coach but he also isn't a top notch coach either. He was perfect for this team when he first came here. Now he isn't. The roster has completely changed and he still does the same shit.
But he’s not a dummy, and he has quality assistants so we can’t assume that without the benefit of being there at practices and meetings we easily know better, and that any of the things we might do differently would translate into more wins

Thibs is very good pregame, he is a good well prepared coach but in game he is horrible, he has no feel and constantly gets out coached
Tom Thibodeau on the possibility of sending Grimes to the G League to get him minutes: "We’ll just take it day by day, see where he is. I think him being here with us is the best thing right now."
RE: RE: I don’t disagree that some of the things he does is frustrating

While I agree with some of the complaints, I always think it’s a little naive when fans are so dogmatic that they know better than the coach and his staff.
My only point it while some of the moves may frustrate us we have no idea anything we suggest would translate into more wins, or even less fir that matter. In the 50+ years of watching sports faithfuls there have been numerous times fans clamored for some exciting young guy who looked great when he got time, to only look pedestrian if/when he did get a full time role. I’m not saying I don’t believe in any of our young guys because I do, but I also place a little more value a veteran coaching staff opinions.
Fans like to complain I get it, but that doesn’t make the complaints fact.
Anyway let’s see if they can keep up that effort from last night on a back to back!
Barrett is off and just keeps trying to shot out of it. Just move the ball.
He doesnt understand this yet, there are other scorers on this teM, if you are off work on defense, rebound and find the open man but Rj is the type kf player that will just keep shooting, its why his shooting numbers are absolute shit
With Hartenstein over Sims or bring in Obi and play small ball.
Hartenstein is a mess our there, what is the point of having depth when you don't use it?
Gravity don't give a damn? They have to let the world know to strap up where it affects almost nobody watching? Why not just stress that in companies that build these structures? So weird.

Thibs doesnt believe in making a sub after he brings them all back in the 2nd unless foul trouble, its very weird
Great defense down the stretch. I know no Joker is huge, but you have to beat the guys in front of you. We did get some friendly whistles but I'll definitely take it. Randle with one of his best games as a Knick. Great to start off a 5 game trip with back to back wins.
this team is fine offensively, if they can play defense anywhere close to what they were a couple of years ago this team can be damn good
As long as guys aren't forcing shit when they don't have it. I'm looking at you Barrett and Randle. Randle was great last night because the ball was going in but there was still a lot of one on one that isn't a recipe for success as we have seen.
but I think we're a .500 team (a few games above or a few games below) unless something changes. Hope I'm wrong!
Obviously the team still needs a star but i think with this group its all about their defense.
The change to 9 man rotation by Thibs was smart and it allows you to have 2 good wing defnders on the court at all times rather having minutes of Fournier out there..
Thibs needs to trust Obi and Randle together thats twice now that hr has gone to that lineup down double digits and the Knicks came back and won..
What a confounding player he is. Just when I'm sure he's simply a losing basketball player he puts together a game like that where he was clearly the best player on the floor. Finally repaid some of Thibs' excessive loyalty.

Thibs is stubborn, as we know. I'm all about Fournier not playing for the reason you mentioned. Hopefully others are right and the shooting improves, but then I guess our ceiling is like 6 or 7 seed in the East? I do like this group, though.

Anyway, a great start to the road trip
I liked what Thibs did with the 9 man rotation, 2 of Quick, Cam and Rj were on the court at all times, so the wkng defense was very good..
It's boring to repeat day after day after day, but it will remain the truth.
Breen said he has been under the weather the past few games. He probably just has a bug and is playing through it.
And Brunson’s ability to create shots in the paint among the bigs is amazing. He was awesome in the 4th last night!

Sims is not much better
I appreciate gutting it out but come on.
Outside of Reddish no one on the Knicks is interested in playing defense

I guess some one was offended by the "Richard" humor....

thats just lazy and stupid
This is a typical dog shit coached game
How much you want to bet Quickley and Toppin are out of thia game after the timeout
That would be to easy
When he plays defense like this, he's so easy to root for and so fun to watch. He's a goddamned beast.
Yes because thats the only thing we complain about, if Julius played like this every game none of us would complain
Love this 5 also.
Because he thinks he is better than he is
I guess everyone on the Knicks is sick.
Even though Toppin didnt score, his presence spread the floor for Brunson and Randle to cook

I think what could change is the shooting. Almost everyone has been awful from 3. That could get back to normal and that would change things.
