Two roommates were inside the home where four University of Idaho students were slaughtered, authorities revealed Wednesday — but the 911 call wasn’t made until hours later. City of Moscow Police Chief James Fry also said the two roommates were home when police responded to a call of an unconscious person and discovered a gory slaying described as “the worst they’ve ever seen.” The latest revelation came during a press conference held by police and school officials where Fry also backtracked about how concerned the community should be about an ongoing threat after authorities originally said the public was not in danger following the quadruple homicide. “We cannot say that there is no threat to the community and as we have stated, please stay vigilant, report any suspicious activity and be aware of your surroundings at all times,” Fry warned. |
I also read they’re trying to identify a “mystery man” who was randomly standing behind 2 of the victims at a food truck just hours before they were killed.
Was there a report that they didn't hear anything? Maybe they did hear and were hiding.
yea no shit
It's possible it could be somebody they knew, but I don't think it's likely. Killing four people up close with a machete or some long knife, that's some serial killer stuff.
Man, what did I miss?

I guess but the question of why the 911 call didn't happen until late the next day would easily be answered if they were in hiding and feared for their lives. That would seem a pertinent answer to the delay instead of we don't know why the 911 call didn't happen until noon the next day.
Two threads about the shooting of five UVA students, four of whom were football players and three of whom were killed, were deleted.

Or they could have been sleeping. We don't know much about the crime scene but this sounds similar to Ted Bundy's attack at the FSU sorority where he killed two and bludgeoned two others while others in the sorority slept.

Lets look at the fact they are college kids and could have been annihilated and sleeping it off. Were their rooms close to the others? Just a weird fucking sdtory.

You know why ;).

Not only that, but we've seen several stories over the years of people not realizing a crime is being committed in their house because they're blasting music on their headphones. There was a story about a wife being raped in the kitchen and her husband in another room couldn't hear it.

Any reason why?

People getting killed with knives doesn't challenge anyone's politics.
Police described it as the most gruesome murder scene they had seen. Seems unlikely roommates were unaware.
I also love how law enforcement says initially there is no threat to the public, then changes to say we don't have a suspect but believe this was targeted, so there might be a small threat to the public, to basically we have no clue.
A horror story. Four young people slaughtered in their sleep.
Ghastly .
Dan, no way should this be deleted.

I'm not so sure. Discussion of the figure of the man at the food truck, as well as what we know, suggests an anonymous stalker/attacker.
I'd bet the FBI is already involved.
Is the public at risk or not?
How does one person brutally kill 4 people with a knife and completely escape unnoticed?

The Roommates are two other girls, I would think it would be extremely hard for two college-aged girls to brutally hack up four others and then be able to clean up the crime scene enough to where they are deemed to not be suspects

Murders occurred sometime around 3 AM and no one calls 911 until nine hours later.

I also think the 9 hours it took them to call can be attributed to a night of partying and they woke up late
The two roommates are girls. Highly unlikely to be perpetrators in a large knife attack.

A highly organized klller, which really cuts against the crime of passion narrative, imo.

It would have to be a completely random stranger. Crime of passion would result in a ton of evidence left and names already put out there by other students who knew them

2. Moscow is right on the border of Washington. WSU is only like 5 miles away. Greatly increases the potential suspect pool.

My thoughts too. A stalker/attacker. Could still be a spurned wannabe boyfriend, but what we know about the crime scene would put him in an unusual category.
Serious weapon

Especially considering they believe a K-Bar knife was used
The pic of the blood seeping down on the outside concrete wall is extremely disturbing

1. It's survivalist country up there. Could easily be someone living off the grid.

Let's hope not. If he's a rando maniac and then living off the grid like Unabomber, then he might be very hard to find.
Awful.

The guy in the black ball cap in the background that puts his hoodie up is supposedly a suspect
In the video, Madison Mogen and Kaylee Goncalves order $10 worth of carbonara from Grub Truckers and wait about 10 minutes for their food. As they wait, they can be seen chatting with each other and other people standing by the truck.
Joseph Woodall, 26, who manages the food truck, told CNN the two students did not seem to be in distress or in danger in any way.
The food truck video offers a helpful timeline of their final hours, Moscow Police Department Chief James Fry said Wednesday, in a quadruple murder case that remains wide open, with no suspect and no murder weapon and a reportedly bloody scene where investigators were still working Thursday.

They are saying the Hoodie guy had been following the two girls when they went to the food truck and he just hangs back staring at them the whole time
Horrible incident. Barbaric action to kill four people like that. Whole life in front of them.
I also find it strange from what I have seen is that there was no break in.
Hopefully this is one that gets solved.

Hoodie guy has cooperates and has been cleared as a suspect
Yeah, as someone who lived in a fraternity house for a couple years, it's completely believable that the other roommates had no idea / passed out drunk / high / whatever
There were two or three nights in particular I was so blitzed drunk I didn't remember passing out at all.
