Quentin Grimes’ 7 assists so far today aren’t just a career high; they’re the most for any Knicks wing this season. It ties Randle’s season high, and is one fewer than IQ’s season high. Not bad for the first game back in the rotation.
The guy is sick and/or hurt and is absolutely killing the team, but Thibs refuses to pull him. I mean fuck, I hate Fournier, but if ever there was a time to play him....
So between Tuesday and Friday, we can fire Thibs, right?
your 2nd and 3rd best players are selfish chuckers that dont care how much they miss they are just going to keep shooting anf a coach who gives them a leash to do whatever they want..
You then have a coach who rather than adjusting to the 3 point shooting continues with his archaic schemes of having every player helping in the paint rather than contesting 3s..
Then you have a coach who never adjusts to what is happening in game, there is only 1 player that should be guaranteed 35 minutes and thats Brunson, nobody else should be guaranteed minutes..the best 5 should play the most that night
Hpw does a player go from not good enough to be in the rotation to starting and getting 32 minutes.
It's malpractice.
So Grimes could not have helped in the last 5 or 6 games.

Its unbelievable, instead Rj, who is sick, is playing over 35 minutes while playing terrible..
its really frustrating, i feel like the posters on BBI could coach this team better
Lost weekend for NY. At least Grimes is rounding back into form, Deuce got some burn, and Mitch is back. All-out effort tomorrow to salvage the road trip!
but this team needs a trade, the mix is not very good and there are some young players that need minutes who play the right way, move the ball and play defense..
but I do look at boxscores, and it seems Barrett has many bad shooting nights. So I looked at his career numbers, he is a 41% career shooter. This is a guy people want to build around?
So did Thibs get another month after the first two wins of this
Knicks stuff: They have called around on Randle but teams want draft picks to take him, same with Fournier.
Teams have called the Knicks on Rose thinking he can be a game changer come playoff time off the bench..
Teams think the Knicks will eventually trade Quickley or Toppin..
Around the league:
SGA is frustrated mainly because he feels he wont get the recognition as a superstar in OKC, he has told Presti he is willing to play out this year but he wants win now moves to start happening soon..
Watch out for the Bulls, if things continue the way its going you could see them blowing it up by the deadline

They made an offer during the summer and got a hard no.
What’s your honest take AJ? Does firing Thibs help?
Only if the knew coach has carte blanche to coach this team how he wants, meaning if Randle or Rj is sucking up the joint he can sit them both on the bench
Starting with Thibs. His first year, they over achieved by playing absolutely all out every night and Randle had a career year. Since, they play no D, Randle regressed back to his career, and the team still sucks.
Yes I think firing Thibs changes a lot with this team.
They aren’t as bad as they’ve played this year, and most of the issues stem from Thibs philosophy and stubbornness. He was the one who didn’t want to trade Grimes but now he’s a situational player. The front office forced his hand with Fournier, he didn’t make that move willingly.
If I had to put a number on it I’d say 70% of the front office wants him out. The decision makers for some reason haven’t pulled the trigger.
At what point do the Knicks go the other way and try to get in the mix for a top pick? Trade off Randle- even if you have attach a pick who cares. Move or bench Fournier and Rose.
Find out what you truly have in Toppin/IQ/ Grimes etc. if they succeed then that’s great. If they struggle and the team loses- they increase their chances in a loaded draft.

I dont think they go the other way if you trade randle..
Ball would be in Brunsons hands more, Toppin is not lazy on defense and the team instantly becomes faster..
is 60% Thibs between his schemes, rotations and his in game coaching..
40% is players mainly Rj and Randle, i have tried to give Rj the benefit of the doubt bit he is just as bad as Randle. He is selfish, lazy at points during the game and jist looks lost.
Fact is Brunson should have a much higher usage but you got 2 guys in Rj and Randle that have no self awareness and continue to chuck up shots even when they are missing, they shoot the Knicks out of games and Thibs continues to give them long leashes
Al Harrington and Tim Thomas have to be up there
Quote:
in Rj and Randle i have ever seen

but they had no one else, Brunson is cooking and these 2 morons continue to chuck

Bevause Thibs doesnt adjust
They were down 7 or 8 in the third, then I went to fold some laundry. I came back and they were down 20. Shit’s ridiculous.
Lmao

Randle at his best. - ( New Window )
I've been hesitant to want him gone but I'm just tired of it. It is not too much to ask for a consistent night to night effort.
How many draft picks do we have and won't use this year?
the solution is so simple, but i dont think this front offixe wants to make that decision..
The rebuild should be so easy from here on out, the assets are in place but i dont think Rose has the guts to make the moves necassary

A good portion of the front office does.

I don't the FO thinks he is the problem.

If Wes was in charge Thibs would of been fired last year at the all star break..
Rose seema afraid to make a move
