So I'll offer something somewhat useful. Both the 49ers and the Rams have put their top offensive weapons back to return kicks. Beckham did it for us on occasion when he was here.

like Patterson, when you factor in penalties on returns, as well as injuries, you're probably better off returning nothing (except, obviously, KOs that don't reach the EZ)
