Whats the best OL combo?

nym172 : 11/20/2022 6:40 pm
My guess is Thomas - Ezedeu - Gates - Bredeson - Neal.

if Gates starts at C on Thursday and plays well, after the bye week this lineup could be a legit thing.

Bredeson will be back after the cowboy game. hes been missed.
I think you’re right

I think Lemeuix will be better once he gets more reps though.
Thomas and Neal, certainly

Gates is better than Feliciano, if he's fully back. Today was too small a sample size to know for sure. Either Bredeson or Ezeudo should be at left guard. Then they need to decide if the odd one out or Lemieux is better than Glowinski at RG. But let's not delude ourself into thinking that any combination is going to be a top notch unit this year. They all need to develop, certainly at pass pro, other than Thomas and maybe Gates.

Thomas, 3 new players, Neal.
What do you mean after the bye week?

They already had their bye.

Of the two you mentioned, I'd prefer Ezeudu at lg because he's so good at pulling.
Too much debate about which interior O-lineman

would be the best combination. It's basically nonsense.

The fact is while the BBI opinions regarding the Guards and Centers make it seem like (pick your combo) change would make a material difference, the real truth is it won't. All of these guys have flaws for different reasons and none of them are even close to plus-players.

I would keep Ezeudu in there because as a rookie his future with experience will be worth more than watching the flaws from the other Guards. Lemieux looked like a 5th round pick who hasn't played in 2 years...mostly because he hasn't really played in 2 years and he was never good when he did.

Feliciano was always going to be risky play despite the unwarranted optimism that Schoen/Daboll knew him. He is the definition of a stop-gap because of his contract and his experience at the position. Glowinski is serviceable but as inconsistent as almost every other Right Guard we have plugged in there for the past decade.

Schoen's rebuilding of the OL requires another year of investment. One more plus-starter at either Guard or Center, and probably one more developing Tackle. This should send the undeserving starters to the bench where they belong.

Whatever it is on Thursday….
thrunthrublue : 11/20/2022 9:35 pm : link
It cannot be today’s starters, because their play made it seem as if detroit had 20 defenders…..they owned, dominated the line of scrimmage, including blowing up extra point kicking….all Barkley saw at the point of attack was a 53 yard wide detroit lions jersey….i would say the giants O line blocking was pitiful only because my vocabulary for words that encapsulate horrendous is just too limited….from the first play the lions delivered a joe Louis sized punch to the giants mouths….and the detroit extra large can of whoop ass lasted the entire game. Thursday? Might be better instead to watch a history channel doc on the little big horn….and root for Custer!
Not sure about Bredson

Never have been a Lemieux fan. I do root for Ezeudu more than most.
