were pulling a number of guys... we have a game in 4 days.
ok, that makes some sense, but you'd have to wonder why a 21 year old needs the rest. The Lions also have a game in 4 days and I didn't notice them resting Hutch.

Because if he got his ankle rolled up on during a meaninglessness drive at the end of the game then the would have been much worse

Nah, methinks your campaign to demonize Thibodeaux is simply continuing. Whatever gets your rocks off.

If that's the rationale, I'd have taken Jones and Thomas out also. It's not like Thibs is the guy we can least afford to lose.
He’s not really a factor in many games. Only saw him once or twice
I don't hate Thibs. He is who he is. I just thought the Giants made a mistake picking him at 5. So far, including today, he hasn't made me reconsider. And seeing him on the same field as Hutchinson accented it. I never hated Pugh or Apple or Flowers or Toney either, I just think the the Giants made a mistake drafting them where they did. I was actually a big fan of David Wilson, but that didn't work out, lol. Robinson, otoh, showed today why they picked him in the second, before the injury.
Andrew Thomas, I believe, played on a bad ankle his rookie season. And he has since shown he's a great player. Thibs may some day prove the same. Here's hoping.
This is not about you, Bill, so please don’t take it personal
but I feel like there is a strong contingent wanting to dislike Thibs because he is flashy and outspoken. To me, the bottom line is this. He has a sh$&load of talent, he stays on the field, he has a high motor and plays to the whistle every play, and HE’S A ROOKIE!! He’s not racking up sacks and blowing up the stat sheet. But it seems as if he’s doing what the coaches ask from him and trying to make his contributions for the defense. I still think he’s going to be a star. He is drinking from the firehouse of playing in a NFL defense but holding his own. What doesn’t kill him will make him stronger. And he has the talent to be a game changer. Let this play out. He is a young player on a team in a rebuild. What’s more important is how he improves in year 2 and 3.
P.S. I had Venison Ropa Vieja this weekend and it was amazing. I’ll save it for the what did you eat this week thread.
All rookie tackles struggle their first year. Most highly touted edge rushers get some sacks their first year. Thibs has 1 sack and does not show progress Re developing counter moves. Why is the man love fantastical projections so rampant here? I want Thibs to succeed, but come on, be objective.

Agree. I'm not seeing it either. Lots of talk, but not much walk. We'll see what happens as we go forward.
Anyone arguing he has been anything more than an okay player so far is lying to themselves.
This guy dominated games in college. Offenses has to know where he was.
I’ve seen him get handled one on one by tackles and TE’s all year. No counter moves. He won with athleticism in college but we are seeing that won’t work versus pro tackles.

Thibs should improve but he’s not the impact rookie we hoped to see.

He lost contain on the edge a couple times as well. He's a raw rookie. I believe he will improve.

Just my opinion and I thought this from the start.

I agree he looks very small
