There is it. Glad we got what we did for him. I still can't believe we passed on Parsons for this guy?? Like i said before, passing on Parsons who we knew was going to be the real deal, is the perfect example why the Giants will struggle for years. Giants will pay the price for making such mistakes. Damn DG.. Worst GM ever. smh. Link - ( New Window )
nobody in the NFL knew Parsons was as good as he is so far or he would have went 1st in the draft
Let's assume you are right (and I'm not sure you are).
If he is having THIS much trouble staying healthy, he's not long for this profession.
He had 7 or 8 injuries last year. He's had three (that we know of) this year already. I guess I should qualify all of this with the word "supposedly."
I agree... and that was the point of the post I made: that it would be a shame if that were the case.
I also don't know that I am right, but I don't know that I'm wrong either. And frankly, no one on BBI does either.
So then he either was injured 10-11 times in the span of 1 1/2 seasons, or he faked being injured 10-11 times. Please choose which one you are siding with because neither one is a good thing. Both also suggest we did the right thing by trading him.

I think I've been clear that I am merely open to the possibility that he has indeed been dealing with chronic/recurring hamstring injuries (again, just like Jose Reyes did early in his career), and that the attacks on his character/effort MAY be misplaced if that is indeed the issue.
And to the Peaky Blinders fan: I'm overlooking the "fact he puts no effort"? That's a fact? How do you know that's a fact? That is my entire point: everything negative about this guy is based on a perception of WHY he keeps ending up on the injury report. A perception, not a fact.
ANd back to you DefenseWins: Yes, if it is indeed that he keeps getting hurt because he is injury prone its a huge problem. But then the narrative would clearly be one that requires empathy vs vitriol

There have been plenty of whispers about his work ethic dating back to last year. Do we know this as fact? No, but some of the posters that have shared some nuggets with us seem to think it is true. Usually where there’s smoke, there’s fire. You can bury your head in the sand if you’d like, that’s your right.
But I have to ask. If Toney were absolutely committed to his craft and doing everything possible to get on the field do you honestly think Daboll and Schoen would have traded him for 10 cents on the dollar? You don’t have to listen to posters on BBI. All you have to do is pay attention to what this staff does, not what they say publicly. It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to connect the dots.
ANd back to you DefenseWins: Yes, if it is indeed that he keeps getting hurt because he is injury prone its a huge problem. But then the narrative would clearly be one that requires empathy vs vitriol
No....it does not require either empathy or vitriol. It is a business and should be an emotionless one when it comes to making personnel decisions. The fans display empathy or vitriol. The Giants made a business decision based upon the facts.
My point was that it does not matter whether he was really injured or not. He was not playing because of 10-11 injuries. He had to go.
To be successful in making personnel decisions, you have to remove all emotion. Unfortunately that is what got in the way when the Giants held onto Eli for too long as an example. OR, when a team clings to a draft pick after they have shown what they really are (ie Toney).
Let's assume you are right (and I'm not sure you are).

I will agree there is a lot we don’t know for sure here but there is at least some concern about work ethic.
That being said even if not a work ethic issue, the Jose Reyes comparison is still concerning about his injuries given the much different physical toll NFL games take on a player as compared to MLB.
Another questionable undetected injury for Yung Joka ?
That is hard to believe. Gonna take a guess here - MRI will show nothing but Joka will not practice all week and then on Thursday will say he is ready to play Sunday.
Put him in the Questionable Undetected Injury HOF right now .
I think it’s not unreasonable to have concerns about work ethic given how his career here started. No I’m not talking about games missed- I’m talking about his first practice. He didn’t have shoes to practice in. How many players have had that?
ANd back to you DefenseWins: Yes, if it is indeed that he keeps getting hurt because he is injury prone its a huge problem. But then the narrative would clearly be one that requires empathy vs vitriol

It's one thing not to try, although that's a character flaw, but
it's another think to pretend to be injured when you're not. That is IMO, much worse.
Now that I know that Toney was actually injured and not pretending (regardless of why he is injured), I can forget about Toney and focus on the Giants.

Agree. This is a guy who couldn’t practice because he didn’t have proper shoes.
Okay, Eli Apple and Kadarius Toney are on your team.
You can kick one off, but you have to keep the other one.
Which one are you going to get rid of?
And no, you can't assign the one you keep to the practice squad.

1 target, no receptions and left the game injured.
No surprise.
Fuck Toney and the Chiefs.
Ha. This is worth watching. In other news, I tore my ACL walking my dog. My wife decapitated herself folding some towels
