I go to one game a year with my son; guess I picked the wrong game....
But, I was really surprised at how empty and dead the place was, even at the start of the game.
The mezzanine section looked to be about 70% full at most, the lower deck about the same. I was in the upper deck, which seemed about 80% full. Just lot's of empty seats.
Anyone else at the game notice how quiet the crowd was?
Very strange vibe inside the stadium.
Overall I’ve noticed there are more empty seats this year than most. Think the PSLs and years of losing have taken its toll on season subscriptions. The guy next to me moved his seats down in the same section and they haven’t been sold to anyone else. In the past when there was a wait list he would have been replaced in seconds.
It was cold enough and they are usually not die hards anyway.
I do agree that game was somewhat dead....between the wind, the score, the injuries....it was the worst home game this year
My opinion anyway
actually after the Giants were up 6-3 early in the game, I got a bad vibe...very bad. Shut it off right then and there, recorded the rest....waited until 4:15, Googled the score and thought, "Why am I not surprised?"
So was it the shittiest home crowd so far this year? YES
is it the worst the team has played all season? Resounding YES

Is this real? Am I not getting a bit?

Nope....serious....as I get older, watching the games live puts me into a frenzy that isn't healthy. I can actually feel my blood pressure going up. Over the years, I've gotten speeding tickets over the Giants (the game when the Jets knocked 'em out of the playoffs in the 80's), injured various body parts and trashed some electronics (remotes). The Superbowl loss ended up with me kicking a laundry basket in my basement, putting my foot through it and slashing my bare foot up. All this is pretty weird for me, because naturally, I am a very calm person...my levity comes if I watch the game with other people...then I can watch live...guess it all comes out on game day..I am a maniac when it comes to the Giants...dunno.....
We came in at roughly same time but went through Verizon gate and got right through. Whatever it was must’ve been localized to the west side.
2. The cold was a big contributor. At the start of the 2nd half, the mez was empty. People still inside keeping warm. Plus, you have a lot of people who are in the club room watching on TV where it is warm.
3. At the end of the 3rd quarter, it was apparent this team was not going to win. People were running for the exits.
It was cold enough and they are usually not die hards anyway.
Hey! I resemble that remark. We sit in the mezzanine seats, and you really can't watch the game from the club. Maybe from the TV's, but there are too many people in front of you to watch it "live."
In any case, yes because of the weather there were more people in the club than usual but our section's seats were filled. It wasn't that cold, and sunny games are pretty comfortable.
Not sure what was going on yesterday. We were losing most of this game and no spark on O was probably more the fault than anything.
And to reiterate, any one who wants to have a really good game experience should scalp club seats once at least.
