In my 12-team .5PPR Superflex League (with 4 pts per TD pass), our trade deadline is this weekend and our playoff starts in Week 13.
Playoff format:
- 6 teams with Seeds #1-4 going to best records and Seeds #5-6 going to two teams (out of the remaining eight teams) with the highest regular season total points regardless of their records.
- Seeds #1 and 2 have bye Week 13
- Week 13 - Quarterfinals, Week 14 - Semifinals, Weeks 15-16 Championship
With that in mind, I am currently ranked #1 with a 9-1 record and have 100 points more than the #2 and 3 teams with records of 8-2, so no matter what happens in Week 12 (unless I bench all of my players), I will have a bye in Week 13. And that brings me to my dilemma. As my first playoff game will be in Week 14, I have sort of a RB issue.
I originally had J.Taylor and A.Jones (both with Week 14 byes); however, I traded away J.Taylor along with L.Fournette to another manager for E.Elliott and T.Pollard. So I have two RBs that play in Week 14. However, while last night was a total win for me with those two, relying on two RBs from the same team isn't always a recipe for success. With that being said, the Cowboys do play the Texans in Week 14.
My dilemma is, do I still try to trade away A.Jones for another RB without a Week 14 bye? Or do I just hold tight and rely on the Cowboys tandem for Week 14 and keep A.Jones for the championship weeks? I also have the option of bundling A.Jones and J.Jefferson for a RB/WR combo trade, especially with J.Jefferson and his minor turf-toe injury, I may be willing to part with him. We have until end of tonight's game to execute a trade.
This is my current roster:
QB: J.Allen
RB: A.Jones, T.Pollard
WR: S.Diggs, J.Jefferson
TE: T.Kelce
Flex: E.Elliott
S-Flex: D.Jones
Bench: M.Ryan, AJ.Dillon, D.Harris, N.Hines, J.Watson, K.Pitts
With what you have, anything you get fr your flex is just a bonus. I bet if you go back, you probably could just count the points you got from Allen, Diggs, JJ, Jones, Pollard, Kelce, subtract the flex, and I bet you still win most weeks
You have Jones' high-value handcuff. Work the wire, to improve depth, but you have a championship lineup. Don't overthink.
BTW, Jameson Williams is practicing this week! Hooray for all of us who have him stashed!
I'm 4-6, but the guy in final playoff spot (4 seed) is 5-5 and has a good chance of losing. The guy in 5th is also 5-5.
The three seed is 6-4, is almost certainly going to win, but due to schedule quirk, we play each other back-to-back weeks weeks 14 & 15. So chances are great if I win out I'm in. Problem is I have the hardest sched remaining.
I play the current 1 seed, 2 seed, and the three seed (as mentioned) the final 4 weeks. So if I win out, I've earned it.
I have DeAndre tonight and a 32 point lead, my opponent has Deebo and 49ers defense.
In my 12-team league that I am in first place in, I started RBs James Robinson and due to bye weeks and Gus the Bus being ruled out, had to start James Cook, who surprisingly delivered 8.6 FP. I also started Justin Jefferson, Kadarius Toney, and Garrett Wilson. So based on all that I got killed, right?
Nope! Burrow, Kelce, and Olave delivered the victory and we are rolling on at 9-2 in the 1-seed with 3 weeks to play.
I'm actually really intrigued by Mack. I'm not making a play for them because of my roster construction, but it's clear Murray should be added in all leagues and Mack in deeper leagues.
Slayton is interesting if available. You can't play anyone on the Giants except Saquon this week, and even with him, I'm tempering expectations.
Allen Robinson has to be considered now, but I don't love anyone on the Rams.
We have to look at what's going on with Mixon's status, but Samaje Perine could be a great play week 12. I will seek to add him if anything to block him from my opponents.
I think he has to be added everywhere. Break out game. Solid depth, good flex play. Run-oriented offense, but Burks (who I did not like as a prospect) did his best A.J. Brown impersonation yesterday. I was really impressed with his strength at the point and he demonstrates superior contested catch skills.
Tannehill also looks like he's in playoff form.
I'll be putting in claims for J.Williams (as a potential keeper candidate), T.Burks (another potential keeper candidate), and maybe some of the RBs.
I finished with the highest weekly scorer again (6 times in 11 weeks with $10 prize per week) by .24 points and will definitely win the top scorer for the season ($50 prize), so I'm at least getting my entrance fee reimbursed.

Nice Ronnie!
