Here's my best guess at it.
The Cowboys have allowed the 11th most rushing yards to opposing QBs this season. On the surface that's not exactly an eye-popping ranking. But the 10 teams ahead of them have allowed an average of 53.4 total carries to QBs. The Cowboys have allowed just 36 attempts (33% less).
Pretty obvious where I'm going with this. They seem pretty susceptible to mobile quarterbacks, and we certainly have one. We just have to utilize him; something it appears other teams haven't really done much of against Dallas.
We're a run-first team with Barkley. The play fakes need to be flawless, and Jones needs to get outside the tackles and be nearly perfect with his reads (in regards to running or finding an open target). Run that a lot early on. Get the middle of Dallas' defense to be leaning outside the tackles just a little bit. Maybe that'll free up a little bit of space for Barkley between the tackles.
Then with that... stretch the field with the passing game. If the threat to run is there, both with the quarterback and running back, the best opportunity to get big chunks in the passing game is to make it vertical. Slayton and Golladay (yeah, him) need to be at their best, especially down field.
As for the defense? I really don't know. Pollard is so dynamic, so my only hope is the Cowboys fall in love with Zeke after 2 TDs yesterday (both just 1 yard runs) against a team that didn't show up. If they do that and Dex/Williams can bottle him up on early downs, maybe Thibs can have his coming out party on thirds and get us the ball back.
It's a long shot, but that's the best shot IMO.
Expect a lot of Barkley and Scottish Hammer. Need to win field position battle, keep Dallas O off the field.
Defensively, if i am Wink, i am throwing the kitchen sink at Dak, make him throw it quick, the longer he has the more he is going to pick on these corners

This. We'd need to be +3 on TOs and not shoot ourselves in the foot
I don’t see our OL being able to control their DL. Bad matchup
Jones will be running away from pressure all game
Our defense isn’t equipped to shut down the cowboys if we allow them too many chances…it just isn’t going to happen.
If we get behind early we’re in deep deep trouble. The last thing we need is for parsons and Lawrence to sit back and rush Jones.
This is a bad matchup for us for many reasons. I’m usually an optimist but I don’t see many ways the giants win this game but then again it’s a division game you never know.
Think they will find a way to Split Washington and get the Indy game.
Problem is I don't see another loss on the Washington schedule besides 1 vs the Giants and San Fran. Its likely Dallas is sitting their players in the final game. So that gets them to 10-7.
Giants played decently well that night, all things considered, but they got blown out in the end. I suspect a similar outcome this time. I don't see how they can hold out.
7-4 going into the later stretch of the season is something we would have all signed up for at the beginning of the year. But this week... all I see is pain.

I would almost be tempted to play our safeties in the box or corners since our linebackers can’t shed blocks anyway lol. Atleast they would have a better chance matching up against pollard coming out of the backfield and the tight ends.
Thinking about Crowder or Jaylon smith In coverage against pollard is giving me nightmares.
The Giants will not have a chance to blitz much. Dallas can probably run it up our asses for around 200 again like they did with the great Cooper Rush.

Collins needs to be brought up immediately. He can atleast tackle and defend the run a bit.

Giants also didnt have Leonard williams that game
On D, stop the run, stop the run, stop the run and TACKLE and lay the wood on Prescott.
Great Vikings team? all of their wins have been 1 score games just like the Giants
If Dallas is that significant a percentage behind the average number of attempts of the top 10 worst defenses vs. QB rushing, I would consider the possibility that the Cowboys' defense might not be especially weak against designed QB runs, but instead has some assignment/integrity breakdowns when their own pass rush causes a broken play scramble.
That, in turn, results in a fair amount of QB rushing yards allowed, but may not suggest anything about a weakness in their defense that can be schemed against effectively. IMO, if Dallas was especially weak against designed runs by opposing QBs, you would eventually see the number of attempts tick upward toward the same volume as the teams that are ahead of the Cowboys in QB rushing yards allowed.
If that's not happening, then other opponents are not changing their tendencies based on what Dallas has put on tape. And that at least suggests that other teams aren't seeing that as a weakness in the Cowboys' defense, or they'd at least be trying to take advantage of that (especially since it would theoretically help neutralize Parsons on the pass rush if you could force him to stay home and maintain gap integrity).
However, this is unlikely to occur by Thursday other than maybe Neal getting back on the field.
Start putting together your Christmas wish list though.
Even if we were to knock Dak out early in the game, they are still a batter team with their backup QB.
I will keep beating this drum over and over. Our best shot at winning the game is to win in the trenches. Run the ball and stop the run. An extremely difficult challenge for us
Lol. Way to hang tough Mike
Dak is good against the blitz. Disguise coverages. Dak is a one read QB. We need to somehow stop their run game and make Dak beat us.
Anyway, much like the red challenge flag, in certain situations, like an outright slaughter, perhaps the coach should be able to literally wave a white flag.
There may be times when a pragmatic surrender would be preferable to a literal massacre
Thursday's game might be a good example as to why a white flag would make sense
On the other hand... "That's why they play the game," said an old gasbag we all once knew
and tolerated
Booze, party girls and tell them that their next careers is rapping and Hollywood.
Problem is that this team is not the "Cocaine Cowboys" and the best defensive player wears #11 and not LT's # 56.
Or 6 OL and run the ball. AT the tackle eligible.
Games like these can swing on turnovers....
