Some positives going forward

nygiants16 : 11/21/2022 12:31 pm
first 7-3 and control everything in front of them, wven if they get trounced by Dallas..

Larence Cager looks like a nice find at Tight end, who cna be a threat and with Bellinger can make a nice combo at tight end..

Hodgins looks like a capable reciver who can at least be a possession guy and get open..

Slayton is turning back into what we saw his rookie year..

It really sucks about Wandale but we saw a glimpse yesterday of what he brings..

Gates looks like he can start at center easily on Thursday and ezeudu is the left guard the rest of the season

Defensively the injuries suck mightily but Mccloud to me is a capable body, he is big and long..

Pinnock has shown a little bit in the box and hopefully is healthy to play thursday..

Neal, Bellinger and Ojulari hopefully will be back in the next couple of weeks, i dont think its all doom and gloom
I have been struggling after this loss admitedly

and it all has to do with the injuries. I knew the Lions would be tough but this team can't afford to lose guys like Wandale and Jackson right now. I'm more pissed over the longer term injury ramifications of yesterday than anything else. I was also psyched for the Thanksgiving Day game and now I feel like that's out the window. I'm so optimistic normally but I don't see how we don't get rolled on Thursday.

until Ojulari can show that he can stay on the field for 2-3 consecutive games, I don't have any faith in him TBH
Pinnock went to the hospital
DavidinBMNY : 11/21/2022 12:38 pm : link
He probably broke his jaw. I mean i know we want to have a chance, but i got to figure somehow else can be elevated for this one.

Maybe the guy they signed recently or just someone on the practice squad.

In such a short turn around, the moves you make are from your inactive players and the practice squad, I'd guess.

Cager will take Wandale's roster spot I guess. They'll need to decide who else to IR. They will need DB's to get through the game. They probably should IR Adore.
The Giants going forward will be playing with 2's and 3's, I hope

the next man guys can produce otherwise Thursday will get ugly fast.
exactly what Chris684 said above
bluetothegrave : 11/21/2022 12:51 pm : link
When you are decimated as we are its very hard to hope. Why was jackson returing punts? A rare awful decision by daboll.

Agreed. What a bummer. I don't see any way we will be at all competitive on Thursday.
The one positive I see is the Giants will hopefully be building
GFAN52 : 11/21/2022 12:52 pm : link
quality depth for next season with all these backups getting extensive playing time.
CB

They need to bring in some more bodies from the FA who are still looking for work. No way they can go to war with this crew that is hurt

the Robinson injury hurts. HE looked really good. and while SLayton
Victor in CT : 11/21/2022 1:13 pm : link
isn't great, he's competent and they would at least have 2 NFL caliber players out there.

The 2ndary is what is really worrisome now. Hopefully Flott and some of the others mentioned here can pick up the slack.

They need Ojulari back Badly. Too many JV guys at Edge/LB
Dallas lost Dak for half the season
Vanzetti : 11/21/2022 1:30 pm : link
That is way more significant than all the Giants injuries combined.

And other than WanDale and Davidson, all the Giants injured players of note will all be back at some point. It's really just the timing that sucks because the injuries came during the tough part of the schedule.

But Giants will make playoffs and Jackson, McKinney, Bellinger, Neal and (possibly) Ojulari will be back. That's five quality starters added to the mix. Gates and Lemieux should also be back in game shape by then. So really 7 starters and Gates is a significant upgrade over Feliciano.

PS: I did not forget Shep but he is injured every year so I did not count him.
I whole heartedly disagree

"Dallas lost Dak for half the season ...
That is way more significant than all the Giants injuries combined."

That is one man and that man isn't Pat Mahomes or any other elite QB. He's won how many playoff games on these loaded teams they have? They won without him and in some cases with ease. That says a lot and that isn't a praise for freaking Cooper Rush.
Disagree
Eliyah : 11/21/2022 2:08 pm : link
Dak out with Cooper Rush holding his own is not as impactful as the giants losing so many starters/contributors on a team that is not super deep
If I am head coach
PaulN : 11/21/2022 3:09 pm : link
I believe Peart was good. I leave Peart at Right Tackle and move Evan Neal to Right Guard, put Gates at center, and Lemieux at guard if Ezeudu is still not ready. Put Tyree Phillips at tight end and run Right at them, power running game. It's our only way forward. In my view.
Cager - Hodgekins?
Reale01 : 11/21/2022 5:11 pm : link
Cager's blocking was bad and he dropped the two point conversion. Hodgekins fumbled away the last (albeit small) chance we had.

Not excited by either.

Dak is 3-2 vs Cooper Rush 4-1. Dak is in his 7th year and has 1 playoff win. Overrated and over paid . Overhyped by media because he plays Cowboys. DJ has never had the weapons or OL Dak has played with.

Yup. Just having Lamb at WR would make a huge difference here.
