Basically our entire 2022 Draft class has been injured.
Are we seriously cursed?!
Kayvon - Missed time
Evan Neal - Missed time
Wan’Dale - Out for the remainder
Ezedu - Neck
Flott - Missed time
Bellinger - Missed time
Belton - Missed time
Davidson - Out
McKethan - Out
Beavers - Out
Are draft picks important with these results?! I kid but this is brutal!
It’s who we are.
Rumor has it Mara is contemplating a name change:
“The New York Medics”
The logo possibilities are endless!
Bellinger is obviously a freak injury, but all the ACLs, hamstring and calf injuries ???
The Medical Staff is one of the few constants (other than ownership and “trust fund staff” such as Chris Mara)
All the injuries really take a lot of the joy from rooting for this team.

We assume Chris Mara has been dealt with for now, but hopefully a deeper overhaul of the training staff (and maybe scouts) is happening.

Chin up. Definitely feel bad for the injured players (not to mention the entire team/organization) but at some level you just gotta throw your hands up and say, “What the hell… on to the next game!”
"I'm aware of the injury factor, the number of IRs, which is a cancer, let's face it. It's something that has to be corrected. It's a mental thing, I believe, as much as anything else."

But does our “Ring Of Honor” Medical Staff provide any input on the draft choice selections?

Show me an athletic training staff that can predict which players will tear a knee ligament and I'll show you a staff where each person will be paid 8 figures. It's not possible. Not to mention athletic trainers rehab injuries, they don't 'train' the athletes. That's the strength and conditioning people.

A stupid comment from a living in the 1960s football coach. How the hell is an ACL tear a mental thing. He probably thought concussions were no big deal.

Nope, Tampa people just didn’t pick up what coughlin was laying down, that day.
He was talking about too many players that checked out in 2003 and took the easy way out.

The team puts the players on IR. The players don't make that decision. If players checked out, that's a coaching problem.

How would you predict ACL injuries?

There was definitely players that milked injuries to not play. Kadarius Toney is a prime example of a player who claimed injuries when the team disagreed.
The team may make a decision on IR, but if a player says that he is too injured to play; what is a team supposed to do? Ignore him and play him anyway?
