After all that off-season stuff I actually want to see Jimmy G win and make the playoffs. I even more want to see him knock Brady out of the playoffs, that would be awesome.
RE: Sounds like a 49er home game out there in Arizona
They've got a shot for sure, but the QB to me is still the big question mark.
And they probably won't get home field all the way thru so they'll have to do it on the road - which again points to the QB.
I will never understand the Jimmy G apprehension. He's 4-2 in the postseason, went to a Superbowl just a few seasons ago, and has SB rings from his time in NE. He is also carving up the Cards tonight. What's not to like? I would take Jimmy G over DJ any day of the week.

I'm neither agreeing or disagreeing with you, I do think there's merit to your overarching point regarding Jimmy G as a quality QB. I do think that bringing up rings he received from his time in New England undermines your argument, though. I mean, nobody is clamoring to roster the league's best clipboard holder.
But Jimmy G has some swag about him, he has some ability, but what he also has is an embarrassment of riches around him and one of the best offensive minds in the NFL running that program in San Francisco. He deserves some shine, but it's fair to question how much of this success is due to him vs the talent around him and the brilliance of Kyle Shanahan.
I kind of think a guy like Andy Dalton in that situation would have similar success.
no shame in that and what? so every time i point out a team that is so obviously fielding shit talent at WR someone is going to point out that X is better than what we have?
Considering Jimmy G is making 6 mil this year as a back up ; I would say 30 mil a year for multi year is too little. he isn't a Hall of famer fair enough but, I would think he could and should start here . I kept waiting for him to throw some boneheaded pick p=last night and blow the whole game. Instead he just steam rolled to what like a 3 score lead? I stopped watching after that. I am certainly seeing in Jimmy G what Bill Beliichick saw in him. He's fast ; plays with high intensity, and has a very good feel for the game.

Switch DJ and JG, and let's see how each do with the other's skill position players

So what alternate universe is that going to happen in?
" The Arizona Cardinals fired offensive line coach and run game coordinator Sean Kugler after an incident in Mexico City on Sunday, a source confirmed to ESPN.
Kugler was sent home on Monday morning ahead of Arizona's blowout loss to the San Francisco 49ers on Monday Night Football" Link - ( New Window )

All with receivers that are not great and probably just as bad if not worse than the Giants.

Chris Olave and Jarvis Landry are well above what we have in the fold right now.
Jimmy G is interesting... he isn't Mahomes elite but would you give him $30m/year for 4-5 years? would he take that?
and how would he do in this offense as we are trying to build an NFL quality roster on Offense?
every time he gets counted out, he seems to rise from the dead.

LOL - NYG have the worst receivers in the league, and it's not close.
But continue with your tired narrative...

Darius Slayton would be probably the #3 or #4 WR on the Saints. He is our #1
Juwan Johnson would be our starting TE, maybe even with Bellinger healthy
And Kamara is a better pass catching RB than Barkley.
