Sunday s loss exasperated by injuries, has made the post season a more difficult task than it was just a week ago.
However, the road ahead is filled with big games in December, which in and of itself is something to look forward to and hopefully enjoy.
I get the feeling the defense we saw second half against the Texans and last Sunday, especially with the injuries, might become the norm for a bit, unless they all of a sudden find a pass rush.
Offense needs to step up, control the ball, finish drives. I think it s going to require more from the passing game, injuries not withstanding. Giants need to loosen up opposing fronts
I share the sense that Thursday could be a really tough situation. But going forward, especially in key games vs Washington, don’t share at all in the surrender mode that s been pretty prevalent since Sunday
Let’s enjoy this. 4 straight division games at 7-3. It’s been a long time.

I think they have to, kid gloves need to come off, teams are going to try and take Saquon away, have to hurt them when they do that..
Push the ball down the field and use Golladay, i know he is not the same player but he is a big bkdy use him and Slayton gets a lot of seperation on those crossing routes
I think you've got that all pretty much right. In particular, you statement about our defense caught my eye:
"I get the feeling the defense we saw second half against the Texans and last Sunday, especially with the injuries, might become the norm for a bit, unless they all of a sudden find a pass rush."
With the final decimation of the secondary, a below-par ILB duo, a serious deficit in the pass-rush department and the over-use of Dexter Lawrence (and Leonard Williams), several teams should have no problem putting up 30+ points.
Any wins from here on in is a huge bonus IMO.

Agree with your post except the final line. Any wins at 7-3 is a bonus? No way. Go out a find a way to win 3 games.
I think a big part of the problem sunday was Adoree going out changed their gameplan, i think he was going to follow Amon St. Brown and then that changed their coverage and plan..
I hate to say what I am about to say BUT, Kenny Golladay has to produce these last 7 games for us to have a shot at really making the playoffs on merit (meaning not hoping that we limp close enough to the finish while others fall off completely).
Last 7 games:
@ Dallas
Wash
Philly
@Wash (which for Washington is back to back games vs us -with a bye in between)
@Minn
Indy
@Philly
Games that we MUST win:
Indy and home vs Washington
Need to take one of these games:
@was, Home vs Philly @Minn
Maybe get lucky and steal one of these:
@Dallas, @Philly
if we win 2 games we are 9-8 on the year which after the 7-2 start would be disappointing but still would be a success if you look at it from where things appeared to be in August.
If we win 3 games we are in the playoffs for sure and have a 10-7 record overall. This would be considered a success even though it mean we went 3-5 over the last 8 games.
4 wins and we have an 11 win season and this makes the whole season feel like a success (7-2 start, 4-4 finish) and a playoff appearance which could mean 1 or more games depending on matchups.
What I hope to see is we sweep Washington and beat Indy, securing 10 wins. If we can beat Philly, Minny or Dallas 1 time that would be icing on the cake.
We lost to Detroit in a game that just seemed to not go our way period (will write up my thoughts elsewhere). The missed extra point early on was a bad omen for the day and the chances we had to take over never materialized..
Perhaps that egg by us is how Minnesota feels about their game with the Boys. They were flat and just never got out of their own way and just got blown out. Maybe Dallas is the one who should be worried Thursday, the pressure is all on them...
2-2 would be fantastic. Sign me up right now.
After a Dallas HUGE blow-out of Minny... and the Lions beat-down of the Giants... I can see where you are coming from. Sorta an unexpected reversal of fortune... a let down by the favorite and the over-performance of the angry underdog.
I've seen it before, have seen it over 60 years of watching NFL football. So, it can happen. That said, it's hard to envision such a scenario with a defense that may have more holes in its dike than Wink has fingers.
I really hope you’re right. I have a tough time seeing it. I have been looking forward to this game since it was put on the schedule.
I don't think this means we go Air Jones. I think the balance may need to shift a bit. They still will need to run the ball with good volume. In two of the losses the big issue was rypc being under 4. That messes everything up and it is where the offense is vulnerable for multiple reasons.
The good news is both Bellinger and Neal should be back soon which is going to really help the O imv.

I want to see Jones pull it more on those RPOs especially against Dallas, Parsons and Lawrence are agressive off the edge, you can steal yardage with that play and also slow them down a little bit and make them think..
Jones gashed them in that monday night game..
I tend to agree..
Just dodn't know if the Defense can hold unlike it had done previously.
Don't go away form your strength on Offense.

wink also coached a defense last year that was missing most of their top players, their secondary had practice sqquad players and if it wasnt for Harbaugh making stupid decisions they would of been in the playoffs

but my guess is Wink has very chubby fingers. So we've got that going for us..

Do you think Jones actually worries about his critics at this point in his tenure with the Giants?
Hopefully Neal is back Thursday, although last time Demarcus Lawrence really took him to school. Hopefully, he will be more ready for the rematch.
You nailed it. Pass pro is still a big problem. But they're going to need to be able to move the ball quickly down field if they get behind by a couple of scores. Can't take 8 -10 minutes to score when playing catch up. That's the situation they were in Sunday, and they couldn't move the ball quickly or consistently enough.
They need to stay afloat and avoid injuries, then hopefully get some KEY pieces back (Neal, McKinney, Jackson, Ojulari, Bellinger, Moreau, Bredeson)
I they should have most of those guys back for the last 2-3 games.
Who knows what the path will look like if they do make it to the postseason. Hard to predict what other key injuries will happen across the league, and where other teams will be at come mid January. The key is just getting there. Even if they aren’t good enough to be a real SB contender, just being able to watch a Giants postseason game for the first time in 6 years would be incredible.
people are going to be shocked at how bad our line backers are. Dallas is the one team set up perfectly to tear our defense apart.
