best option vs build around but, it is also not complete.
If the Giants plan to build the ROSTER more then Jones is 100% the right choice for the short term so all available options and money can be turned to building the roster.
If they feel the rebuild is well under way and need THEIR guy to continue the path then we have to go after that route.
You can't rebuild the overall roster and go get a QB from outside in the same offseason..
I will say signing Barkley would be the big mistake. His history says he will be injured and he still has NEVER taken over a game. Yes, big numbers and a reason we won some games but he just doesn't wear teams down and he doesn't offer the explosiveness in the passing game that someone of his skills should.
There is one possible situation that may work out in our favor (though many here will disagree) and that is if Daboll thinks he can make Levis into a star and Levis falls some in the draft. With Hooker being injured Levis's fall may not happen afterall as needy QB teams will be looking to get one of the top three guys... But, if he falls close enough to us I think we move up to get him.
"His history says he will be injured and he still has NEVER taken over a game."
You are wrong about his NEVER taking over a game. Did you miss the Titans game? He took it over and we don't win that one without Saquon Barkley. There is zero doubt about that.

TE Daniel Bellinger (eye) and CB Adoree Jackson (knee) are ruled out for #Cowboys, per Brian Daboll.
All the other injured Giants on active roster including RT Evan Neal (knee), center Jon Feliciano (neck), CB Fabian Moreau (ribs) will be game-time decisions.

Daboll sounded optimistic on Richie James (knee), so expect him to replace Wan’Dale Robinson in the slot and to resume punt return duties.

He didn't take over that game. Henry took over the game with the Texans a few weeks ago. He wore them down and made paly after play. It may be semantics to you but to me there is a big difference between what Barkley did and truly taking over the game.
what is his status? There news about him has been very sparse at best. Are the Giants even thinking he might be playing soon? You don't hear updates on him like we have others who were injured and waiting to return.

He did take over the Titans game and certainly the Jaguars game. You have your specific meaning that Henry fits but Barkley does not. I see what you are saying, but because Barkley doesn't brutalize a defense does not mean he didn't take over the end game. If you keep moving the sticks and the defense cannot stop it, then you took the game over.
I hope Wan'Dale doesn't become another Shepherd with the
injuries. Sterling was a dynamic player when he wasn't injured. Wan'Dale was starting to show that same dynamic until the ACL.
When you consider Steve Smith, Shepherd, Toney, Cruz (later in his career) and now Wan'Dale.....I fear we can never have that fast little sports car that other teams seem to keep healthy.

Spoke to safety Jason Pinnock, who said his jaw injury was a result of friendly fire from Jaylon Smith. Everything checked out OK. Pinnock was chewing a cookie as we spoke, so that confirmed that he's good to go for Thursday.

Daniel Bellinger said his double vision is nearly gone and his face is healing well. He's been catching passes and adjusting to the new visor he's wearing on his face mask. He's hopeful to return next week, but will have to see how practices go.
The 2 Commanders games coming up are the biggest games of the season
we have left when you look at the standings. Need 1 for any thought of playoffs, win both and it will greatly improve our chances.
We need 2-3 wins. At this point nothing will come easy with all the injuries. 2 Washington games and the Indy game are the best chances. Minnesota, Philly twice and this weeks game in Dallas will be really hard.

Makes sense, its been 8 weeks since he went down. He should be very close to fully healed. He just has to stretch properly now to prevent a recurrence.

Hopefully that extra few weeks makes all the difference
8 weeks should be solid for a calf unless it was ripped off the bone
he has a chance to really help to pressure with just 4 rushers since back 4 undermanned for a few more weeks
have a feeling we may see adoree by 2nd wash game maybe X too

Fingers crossed on Wan'Dale next year.
Ojulari has a sack fumble this year in his game and a half played. I think he will be back for Dec 4th vs. Philly.
