They really have gotten away from those tight end screens and boots. It feels like the running game stiffened without the threat of being able to throw out of the two tightened sets.
I would say he is. Need to get him up to speed ASAP. I loved him coming out of OSU. Very good receiving and route running skills, good hands, and a better blocker than anything we have sans Bellinger. I wouldn't say he's a great blocker, IIRC, but he's certainly better than Cager/Hudson/Myarick.
Love this signing, but don't take a chance on losing Vannett by keeping him on the PS. Don't we have an open spot? If not, just cut Calitro or Marcus Johnson. They're dead weight at this point.
RE: Sign this guy to the active roster immediately

Considering the state of the Giants' TE depth chart, Vannett is pretty much guaranteed three elevations and/or an eventual spot on the roster. Even if another team called, I don't think there would be much reason for him to leave. Besides, any team that wanted Vannett on their roster could have signed him already (or claimed him - IIRC this late in the season, even vested vets are subject to waivers).
Cager still seems a likely candidate for Robinson's roster spot. The Giants can backfill at WR by dressing Sills and/or elevating Pimpleton. So they don't need to use the open spot on a direct replacement for Wan'Dale.
Daboll already ruled out Bellinger for this week, per Stapleton. Art did mention that Vannett could conceivably play Thursday, but Vannett wouldn't necessarily bump Cager.

Damn. I was hoping Bellinger would be back. Is it still a vision issue, or is the face not fully healed?
Another reason to suspect Cager will be signed to the active roster...
...is that there have been no reports of a player being dropped from the practice squad to make room for Vannett. The simplest explanation is that Vannett is replacing Cager, and that Cager is taking Robinson's roster spot.
...is that they weren't even planning to have the eye socket and septum checked for healing in time for him to play on Thanksgiving. He seems to be progressing according to the original schedule, as frustrating as the process is for him (and us).
Updates on Bellinger are in the daily media thread.
Thanks. I was really hoping he could go this week. I know he said it's getting better, but if he still has some double vision, I'm not optimistic about any week, until he's cleared.
but why is he available? Outside of the recent IR stint?
Maybe he asked to be waived. Maybe New Orleans had needs at other positions and enough depth at TE. Maybe they wanted him on their PS but he wanted to go elsewhere. Who knows?

What has this guy been doing that he is available now?
Is Bellinger not coming back this week?
