Do I write too much guys? I love chatting about FF. I'm in the "Fantasy Football is life" category. It's an unhealthy obsession!
I know recently and often my posts are lengthy, and I feel like I'm killing the thread. If this is the case, feel free to LMK. I just like going into the analysis part and like sharing the facts/stats and so forth that guide the decision-making process.
Anyway, how did your teams do? I know Ronnie got the most points in his league again. I won 3 out of 5, one of the wins I was down 7 or 8 points with my opponent having CMC and me having Kittle. I was shocked to win that matchup.
The two leagues I lost are both lost seasons, and no chance at the playoffs...they are my 5-keeper league and my dynasty league. So I'm not concerned with losing...I'll take the higher pick!
Waivers - It's Burks for me wherever I have room, but most leagues I really don't need a guy. I'm ignoring Latavius Murray. I just don't feel he's going to be worth the FAAB or waiver priority. There may be a better guy down the line or not.
Perine I would add if I'm desperate for a RB.
If you're in a deep league and James Cook is available, I would look to roster him. Josh Allen through the ball the 2nd fewest times on the season in week 11, and ran it only 3 times, which could mean something, could mean nothing. But what I think is significant, is that in week 11, Buffalo ran their RBs 30 times vs Cleveland. Why is that so noteworthy? That is the highest number of times Josh Allen has handed the ball off to a RB in a single game since week 15 of 2019!
That 30 rushing attempts in a game by Bills RBs...doesn't happen. Most of the time they get a total of around 15, give or take a few...total, by all RBs. In week 10 against the Vikings, the Bills handed it to their RBs 20 times, which was the 2nd most on the year (tied for 2nd most, week 2 vs Titans they also had 20 attempts).
So you go from a situation where they almost never get to 20 carries, and all of a sudden, you have two RBs with double digit carries, Singletary almost getting 20 by himself, and 30 in the game.
It's a development worth paying attention to. I would snag Singletary in shallow formats, and definitely snap up Cook in deeper leagues where they might be available, if you're so lucky. This may be a case where Buffalo is tweaking their offense to manage the physical toll on Josh Allen and him getting hit, perhaps protecting that elbow.
There I went again with a dissertation, but I hope the info was useful.
Same result, Kittle going off brought me the W. I won ugly in the other.
I'm 8 - 3 in both my leagues. all but clinched a playoff spot, now hoping to go at worst 2 - 1 down the stretch for a bye.
One team is not very strong, so I traded Jonathan Taylor for Jeff Wilson, Jr and a 4th round pick. The team I traded with is on life support, so not sure why they did it I doubt they make the playoffs and a 4th is the earliest pick we can trade.
a couple teams think I sold too early, but I don't think so. I think of it as selling high on Taylor who I can't keep anymore (3rd year with him).
My team now:
QB: Allen
RB: Aaron Jones
RB: Jeff Wilson Jr
WR: Amon-Ra St. Brown
WR: Jaylen Waddle
TE: TBD (had Conklin this week)
Flex: George Pickens
Flex: Christian Watson
Bench:
Treylon Burks
Kyren Williams
Kahlil Herbert
Romeo Doubs
Beckham
Wan'Dale (dropping)
I am going pretty hard after Jameson Williams in FAAB and I plan to go moderately after Logan Thomas.
I read the gap between Kelce (TE1) and Andrews (TE2) is bigger than the gap between Andrews and TE33 (I forget who it was) - but man what a black hole position.
I don't draft with bye weeks at the forefront of my decisions, it's one week, and usually things sort themselves out - not this year.
has Mixon been ruled out for this weekend?

And I’m in a tough spot with Mixon hurt and Swift not getting touches.
has Mixon been ruled out for this weekend?
Not yet, which puts me in a tough spot with Swift playing Thursday. Due to injuries my only other RBs are Brian Robinson and Gus Edwards. Lost Breece to injury.
I have Samuel in my flex which is a good play vs Atlanta, but having to start Swift and Robinson would be rough. I’m hoping Swift’s usage Sunday was due to the blowout and the short week coming up. He practiced more than he had in previous weeks but played less.

Yeah, I'm also a Swift owner and I'm keeping him in there. He just doesn't need a lot of touches to get points. I'm not completely unconcerned, that's for sure. It's not so much Jamaal Williams getting his touches as much as it is all of a sudden Justin Jackson getting 9 carries. This may have been just a game script and matchup specific situation where they saw something with the Giants. The Lions were up at least 2 scores for the entire 2nd half.
On its face, the Buffalo matchup this weekend would seem to favor Swift from a potential game script as well as game plan perspective. I think Swift is their best offensive weapon, and I believe if you're going against a team like Buffalo, you're going to need to make sure you get that guy the ball enough. But I do feel like the staff in Detroit may feel now that Swift can't be a 20+ carry guy. I will definitely take the 10-12 carries and 4-6 catches out of the backfield though, with confidence Swift can generate a positive fantasy day.
It's fair to question Brian Robinson at this point. He had a season high in ypc in the Houston game, as we all know the Texans rank dead last in defending the run, and that season high was worth 3.8 yards per tote. This no longer can just be chalked up to other factors, or just a bad game. It's been 7 games, and he's been pretty consistent, and by that I mean consistently bad.
I would feel pretty comfortable about Gus Edwards this week. He was a game-time decision on Sunday, he had limited practices last week, so barring a setback, I would think he would be healthy enough to go against the Jaguars this Sunday. I'd put Edwards in the upside-flex category, but I'd still feel ok if he had to be my RB2 this week.
Definitely would be looking to add Perine if I were you, he'd be a must start if Mixon doesn't go.
If Edwards is good to go I’ll start him over Robinson. If Mixon is good to go, do you start Mixon and Edwards or Mixon and Curtis Samuel?
Yeah I don't think the upside is there at all. We just watched DeMarcus Robinson go 9-100+ on Sunday but the truth of it is neither of these guys are going to be a consistent performer for you. You have to look at the Ravens' receivers like Taysom Hill...yeah, he could give you a big week, but there are going to be at least as many weeks he gives you bupkis.
I'd feel better about Treylon Burks if he's out there. I would even rather have Josh Palmer, even with a healthy Keenan Allen and Mike Williams, in my lineup or on my roster, than the same with Duvernay.
Last week I kind of railed against Courtland Sutton, and he didn't have a terrible week, with a 5-80 line on 7 targets, but I still hate him but would rather have him than Duvernay.
If you're looking for an upside dart through and neither Burks or Palmer are available...I would check to first see if anyone dropped Hollywood Brown, who should be returning from IR this week but certainly by next. Assuming he's also not available, I would rather take a shot on Jahan Dotson, who just came back from a lengthy absence due to a hamstring injury in week 10 to a 41% snap share, which increased to 66% in week 11, 2nd on the team. In neither case did much production follow, but Dotson is a homerun hitter who had 4 TDs in his first 4 games this season, and the remaining sched is friendly (other than a week 14 bye)...with ATL up this week followed by two games vs the depleted Giants secondary.
Cook probably gets taken on waivers, but I think it's worth the shot to put a claim in on him. I wouldn't blow priority on Akers, even though I actually do think the time off probably did his body well and bode well for his production in what remains of the second half, but I just hate that whole Rams situation. If you're that desperate, shit, do what you got to do. He did get 14 touches, the most since week 2, so if this is a sign of things to come he's at least roster-able, but I'm grimacing as I type that. Can you really play any Rams in your fantasy lineups for the rest of the year? Would you feel good about it? It makes me feel icky.
he should be back this week.
I have three reasons
1: I have Amon-Ra St. Brown
2: it's a keeper league and someone like Williams can have a solid end to the season and be a sneaky 8th round keeper.
3: DET has a decent WR schedule for the stretch and playoffs
4: I'll add - because when healthy he's awesome.
I don't draft with bye weeks at the forefront of my decisions, it's one week, and usually things sort themselves out - not this year.
Having all of your bye weeks at the same time isn't all bad. Your other weeks should be good.
Playoffs is going to be fun. With E.Elliott and T.Pollard playing against the Texans in Week 14 (Semi-Final Round), they should score a ton of points for me. Then the Championship Weeks (Weeks 15 and 16) should be a total barn-burner, and hopefully I'll repeat as the champ.
Kyren Williams and Cam Akers it is down the stretch, hopefully more Kyren than Akers.
he should be back this week.

I am. Not sure if I'll use him as my keeper for next season since I can keep T.Pollard for 6th round pick or D.Jones for 9th round pick. I want my options and a potential WR for my Flex.
If Edwards is good to go I’ll start him over Robinson. If Mixon is good to go, do you start Mixon and Edwards or Mixon and Curtis Samuel?
By a long shot I would start Mixon and Edwards. I definitely think Dotson's return to playing time impacts Cam Sims' and Dyami Brown's snap percentage far more than Samuel's, if it impacts Samuel's at all, but it's not something I feel good about if it impacts Samuel's targets and touches even a little bit. Samuel is a player I kind of hate having in my lineup. He has a very low floor and most weeks he's only giving me adequate production, with the upside just too limited. I understand the matchup is good this week, but I'd rather have Gibson or McLaurin in my lineup if I'm going to start any Commanders.
As for Gus, if he plays, I think he's a good start. You know Harbaugh is going to run the ball. And I think he prefers Edwards when he's healthy. In week 7 vs the Browns, Edwards' first game of the year after coming off of PUP, he paced all Ravens ballcarriers with 15 carries for 65 and 2 TDs.
The next week against a tough Bucs' run defense, he again led in carries with 11, despite leaving the game early in the 4th quarter with a hamstring injury. Drake had 7 carries in that game for 2nd among the RBs in rushing attempts, and 5 of those came after the Edwards' injury. Justice Hill got 4 totes, with 1 coming after the Edwards' injury. And Edwards was having a good game, finishing 11-65-0 against the Bucs.
So based on that, I think with Dobbins remaining shelved, the Harbaugh's pecking order in that backfield has Edwards' at the top, and I like his chances of getting in the end zone, too (he was the goal line guy in that Browns' game).

There are no leagues I am in where he's available, mostly because in most of those leagues I already have him, and have had him stashed since the draft.
I am positively giddy about Jameson Williams, particularly in keeper formats. But even in re-draft, you're hoping you can see what you have for a week or 2 before the playoffs. Even if he doesn't play until week 13, I still have that game, and week 14 and in some cases week 15 before playoffs begin. You have to believe he'll be limited in snaps that first game, but I'd expect by week 15 he'll get at least very close to his full complement of snaps, and when that's the case, I can't wait to see what he's going to do. I hate to say "league-winner," but he could go a very long way towards that aim.
I am going to go pretty hard for him.
Last player i was aggressive for was Kenneth Walker III and I bid $112 out of $200 for him and no shit I lost out to someone who bid $113. I thought it had to be shenanigans since he is the commissioners son, but I doubt the commissioner can see people's bids and I trust them, just seems so weird to be random.

Oh man...I was advocating for picking him up a week or so ago.
But with small benches and byes, if there's no IR spot, sometimes there's nothing you can do.

Wow. You’re a lot more trusting than me, lol. There has to be a zero % chance that you bidding $112 is just randomly outbid by $1. He absolutely knew your bid. That’s just way too random a number
If Fields does not play then I need a QB. Might be able to wait until Sunday. Pickett and Brissett are the best QB options available on the waiver wire.
How likely is Fields to play this weekend?
Can probably wait until Sunday to pick up a QB unless you guys like one of those waiver options better.
My team is in good shape for the playoffs and this week is not a must win.
Any info on Fields would be appreciated!

drafted Williams but we have a double R/W/T flex in that league and small benches so he had to drop him.

I was skeptical at first, but then you can see all the bids and I saw another guy who bid $111.
So we had $111, $112, and $113
I'm positive the $111 and $112 were completely independent and random and i do think the $113 was too.
but most of all I do trust everyone in this league - it's been 90% the same 12 people for 15+ years, we go to each others kid's christenings, birthdays, etc. I doubt anyone is going to cheat so obviously (seriously, why not make it $120?) for money, but who knows maybe I am too trusting.
My other RBs are sketchy at best: Pacheco, Stevenson, Fournette and Dillon. McCaffery would be a nice addition, although, he isn't racking up as many points since Mitchell came back. And, my other QBs are Fields and Murray, both dealing with injuries right now. If either is out of action for an extended period of time, Geno would be a decent add. Not as good as Tua lately, but he has been pretty consistent.
What do you think? Any feedback would be appreciated.
Thank you

I've been offered a very tempting trade opportunity. I'm in a non-ppr superflex keeper league. Tua (who is keepable next year with a 6th round pick) for McCaffery & Geno Smith (both not keepable). I have to add a player to the trade to make it legal, but the other team indicated the add-on is flexible in quality.

I am. I’m tied for the Division lead, which if I win it, I qualify for the top tier playoffs. I’m also 3rd in total points which potentially could qualify me if I don’t win the Division.

Madplaid I would do it and if you're looking to send back an RB I would send Dillon. Tua has a lot of value, and I feel like you're buying low on CMC.
I would definitely not budge on Dillon as the extra guy going back. The CMC and Stevenson 1-2 is really strong, and Pacheco is a potential good flex play.
OK, I hope you're still reading as I revisited your post as I was writing...and saw this is superflex keeper league. I walk back everything above. Tua is too valuable as a keeper in a superflex league.
Personally, I feel like Fields' injury probably is not that serious. But regardless, you have Tua in an offense with Tyreek and Waddle. Every week is a potential fantasy football points bonanza, and in superflex, the QB is a premium.
I think the Tua/Fields combo in a superflex is potentially league winning. I don't view Geno as anything that improves your situation, but the fact that CMC is not keepable, while Tua is, you need to hold onto that asset.
Elite QB duo in Superflex leagues is far more important than the upgrade to your RB1. What you have currently with Stevenson and Pacheco is passable, and as the RB situation around the league is always in flux bc of the high rate of injury, anticipate and hit those high-value handcuffs on waivers.
I think Dillon is a really good handcuff to own, but Aaron Jones is one of the most durable RBs in the game. He rarely takes big hits and in his career has rarely missed games to injury.
I'm a big fan of James Cook. I think that coaching staff loves him. Zack Moss is a pretty good RB, and they jettisoned him bc they believe in James Cook. He is a good receiver out of the backfield, got double-digit touches this week in a backup role, and he produced with them.
Seek to add him if possible or other depth options. But the Tua/Fields combo will serve you much better in your quest for a title in Superflex leagues than the upgrade by adding CMC, but especially so bc you can't keep CMC but can keep Tua.
I have Mixon also.....
Perine is my top choice for WW pickup this week. He's a handcuff from here on out me thinks.
The team I was discussing this trade with also has Kelse. I was tempted to offer a counter proposal where I’d give him Tua, Dillon & Kittle for Smith, McCaffrey & Kelse. But I think that isn’t really going to help me enough to justify dealing Tua.
Thank you again and best of luck this weekend. Happy Thanksgiving
I also got Logan Thomas for TE. Hope he can stay healthy.
Someone waived Hayden Hurst who I have had on my roster 3 or 4 times this season. Might pick him up and just forget about TE the rest of the way between those 2.
C.Akers for $4
J.Williams for $1
I actually don't need any of them right now, but it's good to have options for if any of them actually become more involved in their offenses or if I end up with injuries to my starters.
Or better question do you start him over Robinson, Swift or Edwards?
Quote:

No. Let that situation play out a little longer. I still like Edwards and Swift this week out of that group.
I’ll roll Mixon Swift Edwards and if either/both are out roll with Samuel and/or Robinson at the flex

I know that QBs are important in Superflex league (it's been totally important in mine); however, no way the other team gives up both CMC and Kelce for Tua and Kittle. Smith and Dillon appear to be mere add-ons at this point. Kelce may be the single most important player in all of fantasy football right now as the drop off from him to the next TE (even M.Andrews) is pretty significant. He gives his manager probably the single biggest advantage across all positions. If you can get Kelce for Tua, that'll be a total steal at this point.
If you do get that trade, please relegate the other manager to the B-League because he has no business running a fantasy team...lol
Good luck though!
If you can actually get thta

Really appreciate the detailed feedback. This is why I had to stop here first before I made up my mind. It is really tempting make the deal on its face, but I was uneasy about it because of how it would affect my team long term. I think I better stick to my first instinct, and take Tua off the table. He’s too valuable.

The other team’s record is 3-7, so they are essentially out of the running for the top tier playoffs and the big money. They may make the trade I mentioned because Tua is keepable and everyone else listed is not. He’s looking to next year which is why he might give me Kelse. I’ve already turned down the initial deal, so he’s shopping his players to the highest bidder. Probably wont come back to me with an offer. Probably moot.
Good luck to you and Happy Thanksgiving

Got you. That makes sense. This is why I made my playoff seeding in a way that even those with the worst records can make the playoffs based on how many points they've scored throughout the season by making #5 and #6 Seeds points based no matter the final record. In my league, the #11 ranked team is still mathematically alive as he's only 30 points behind the current #6 Seed team in total points.
I would rather go for Kelce over CMC based on their relative value for their positions, especially since your RBs aren't terrible. Everyone without Kelce or Andrews are just rolling the dice on which TE will meet/exceed their projections each week. Go for Kelce.
You think Tua for Kelse is worth it? I don’t know. Until I get Murray and Fields back, my team is going to be vulnerable.
You think Tua for Kelse is worth it? I don’t know. Until I get Murray and Fields back, my team is going to be vulnerable.
Oh man...I didn't read it thoroughly where you said who your other QBs were. Yeah, I wouldn't make the trade if you are relying on the underwhelming Murray and potentially-out Fields. QBs definitely need to be set before you make that trade.
My QBs have been carrying me. I hope they have a little more in them to get me through the playoffs. All the best to you.
QB: Hurts
RB: Mixon (?), Sanders, Stevenson, N. Harris, Robinson
WR: Higgins, Olave, D. Smith, DJ Moore, Burks
TE: Kittle
I can start two RB's two WR's and one flex
If Mixon can play I'm thinking:
RB: Mixon
RB: Sanders
WR: Olave
WR: Higgins
Flex: Najee Harris
If Mixon can't go:
RB: Sanders
RB: Stevenson
WR: Olave
WR: Higgins
Flex: Harris
Would anyone start Stevenson over either RB in option 1? Would you flex anyone different in either case like Devonta Smith? I'm close to dropping DJ Moore.
Stock down, Harris, I like Stevenson over him.
