You go into a deli right now and they have the hot turkey lunch specials out front and center, stuffing and potatoes. The whole shabang.

Do you AVOID turkey leading up to THE BIG DAY?
ESPECIALLY when you consider the probably of LEFTVOERS??

Or... do you make it into a turkey week, so to speak? Gobble gobble style.
I personally found the hot turkey lunch special to be a little offensive. Like opening Christmas presents on December 23rd.

went down to Reading Terminal in Philly yesterday and got himself a turkey sandwich will all kinds of goodies on it. Yeah turkey before turkey day seems a wee bit off.

I'm usually clearing out food that's in the freezer/fridge in order to make room for the food that I'm prep'ing for thurs. All frozen ....chicken soup without chicken(little pork meatballs) and some escarole, Chili n beans, Cheesesteak "burritos", ... that sort of thing

made linguini with calamari for Sunday dinner and I'm enjoying the leftovers. I don't touch turkey starting in October unless it's ground for burgers. In my younger days I used to fast the day before turkey day in anticipation of all the food I would eat. Not anymore

I roasted the backs, necks, wings, and frames of 2 turkeys today, to make stock & gravy. I had to peel a bunch of skin off of the backs, and shove them in my face. It was so good I had to eat a wing too.No seasoning, just kosher salt sprinkled on top. The best bites of turkey I will have all week, and I am planning on a lot of bites.
