Just heard this on Sirius NFL station...the Giants have been in 15 Thanksgiving games in their history. The last time they scored an offensive touchdown was in 1938. Do not know what that means for Thursday, but I feel I've been appropriately warned.

Giants Thanksgiving - ( New Window )
Nope, Jackrabbit had a pick 6 himself in 2017 against WASH, last time NYG played on T-Day.
That was the game that tipped McAdoo to deciding he wanted someone else to play QB. Eli was 11-25 for 76 yards until last two minutes garbage time.
The article you cite in your other post is a preview of the 2017 game.
The most recent TD was a 7-yard TD pass from Ed Danowski to Dale Burnette at Ebbets Field in a 7-7 tie with the Dodgers.
They had another passing TD against Brooklyn in 1937, to find the most recent rushing TD you have to go back to 1936, a 5-yard carry by Tuffy Leemans.
Now when Barkley or Jones carry one over against Dallas Thursday you can impress your friends and family by saying, "that's the Giants first rushing TD on Thanksgiving in almost 90 years!"
I could have sworn we played a Thanksgiving game against the Oilers in the early 90s but I looked it up and that never happened. Must be a phantom memory
Yeah that one really sucked. I saw it in a Panthers bar - which ironically later became a kind of Giants bar - in SC with a bunch of drunk rednexks whobreally hated Eli.
Don’t remember much other than the inauspicious debuts of Dave Brown and I think Kent Graham?

That 1992 game was horrible. Emmit Smith went OFF. I remember being at my cousin's house and not wanting to be around anybody. I was 14 and miserable.

That was the game where Hostetler got hurt and then Kent Graham got hurt and rookie Dave Brown was the only quarterback left standing and I think he got hurt in the game too but finished it. He referenced that game in an interview he did a couple years ago with Rich Risen after Jones was drafted. Said he was nowhere near prepared to play lol

*Eisen. Stupid autocorrect.
Simms was also out with an injury by that point in the season.

Back in the early days of streaming and the nfl channel that no one had where we were visiting

I was at that game and it was cold as hell.
Man, ain't it the truth. Tomorrow is shaping up to be a tough watch as well.
My takeaway: there are opportunities in every game. Overmatched teams get them too, but fewer and farther between. So a squad like the Week 12 Giants better make the most of their chances, and hope the Cowboys don't. Maybe Lamb and Schultz will drop a few easy third down conversions. Maybe Dak will make a few bad decisions under pressure.
