CD is the one who signed him. So I really can’t give him credit for getting rid of him
What’s more troubling is that he made the same mistake two years in a row. Last year the Rangers needed to get tough so he went out and signed a bunch of tough guys. This year they needed to improve on face-offs so he went out and signed a bunch of guys for face-offs.
The problem is carpenter might be good at face offs but in order for them to win a face off he has to be on the ice and he totally sucks and does not deserve to be on the ice so it’s a bit of a catch 22. Same thing with Reeves: he is tough, he’s a good fighter. But to show that he had to be on the ice which was detrimental to winning.
Rangers are stuck with Sammy who sucks. Trocheck is not a good player. Very weak defensively. That line is a total liability. They score a lot but they give up more than they score. Not a winning combination for one of your top lines
I don't know who it was, but someone on the radio this afternoon
Liked him as your Sheriff- keeping an eye out for bullies abusing your star players? You have to admit, a bully might be somewhat constrained from acting like a bully knowing that he may have a Reeves fist in his face soon.

Except he is slow as molasses. Need the cap space more.
I wouldn't panic, the talent is still there but this team doesn't look like what I expected after how they ended last year.
shake things up to me means people are too comfortable.
and Panarin is one of the more enigmatic players in recent years. He's the best passer on the team IMO, one of the best passers in the league, but he also has a sick wrist shot. I get his inclination to pass, but he over-passes. and the other end of the spectrum is Trouba, who you all know i like, he shoots at the worst times.
There is no way Trouba should be 4th on the team in shots (and shots is just on net). Trouba has 16 more shots than Panarin. Somehow they need Panarin to shoot more and Trouba to shoot less. If the Rangers were bereft of talent I could see the "shots on net" focus on offense, but often when Trouba shoots (like on PP2) it's basically a turnover because he doesn't always have traffic in front and there are guys open on the wings.
as for shaking things up - some players need some time in the press box to regain the urgency. healthy scratches often have a way of sending a message better than anything else. It's embarrassing to most players.
Reaves is a good teammate but needed to dump the salary.
I wish Reaves well. He really was a good presence, but there was no way they could continue to justify his cap hit.
Drury and GG need to do something to shake off the malaise and underperforming group

This is completely unprofessional and unacceptable

Georgie had bad starts because he was moping. I think this guy might just suck. That second goal was horrendous.
3-2 headed into the third. They better pull this one out.
What about Panarin? Mr. Goal Scorer? Where's he been lately? Guy played better with Strome than he does with Trocheck.
Awful awful loss
Let’s be honest… a halfway decent performance by the goalie gets them a point minimum.
To me that’s lazy and inaccurate - he didn’t make any espn plays. Lots of outside shots, outside posts, nothing special.
As much as I like last years team I hope this team has another gear. Not been a fun watch so far.

May need to shake things up.
