Not sure if someone particular starts this thread or if it is an open concept.
It was such a strange game that the choices will be tough.
My guess:
Studs
Love - seemed in on every tackle
Thibs - 5 QB hits, non stop action
Gates - thought solid at center
Duds - struggling with these
Anderson - hard to pick on a 4th string LG, but..
Barkley - is he just too beat up
Jones - missed too many open WRs
Holmes had some nice plays - Love INT was because Holmes tipped the ball. But I can see your point, he had some bad ones. McCloud was just as bad, especially failing to adequately cover Schultz on that 3rd and 15 TD.
Two sacks and almost another from Parsons alone - I thought of it.
Agree with the rest of them. Jones and Barkley simply couldn’t get out of their own way once again, even when plays were there to be made.
I thought Slayton played well. The catch at the goal line was really a high difficult catch having to go over the defender to get it. He is inconsistent as hell but there is some talent there.
Pinnock might be here he was pathetic as a tackler
Jones (sorry he and Barkley played very small in a game they had to be Giants!)
* Speaking of bad, want to know why Cunningham is a practice squad guy? He comes in on a shirt yardage play as a TE and has a thin LB/DE drive him 6 yards back into the backfield and plants him on his back.. when your ol as a blocking TE gets rag dolled like that you can see just how bad our TE's are as blockers and how thin our depth has become at Oline..
But am fine putting it on the two offensive "stars" that continue to be sized up on this site for Franchise Tag money.
And you can throw another DUD on that moronic Punter we have that keeps kicking the ball into the end zone from around midfield.

In all fairness, he dropped one inside the 5 that could have been downed at the one but was dropped into the end zone by the gunner. He has not been good but that one was placed really well and should have pinned them deep.

That is why a qualified it on Anderson, but he had another false start, was beat badly a few times.
I probably didn't include Thomas because he has been money all year, but I almost did put him there instead of Anderson.

I think he had two and maybe three that could have been downed inside the 5, maybe the 10. I had the ST gunners as duds originally.

I think he had two dropped inside the 5, the one dropped early on and the one the gunners didn’t get to

Gillan punts it poorly from midfield is a consistent problem.
Not going to suggest the gunners are very good but him putting the ball so close to the end zone and bouncing in, or simply in the end zone happens too much.
If you think the blame should be spread around then the DUD is the punt team that doesn't give Wink a chance to dial up some stuff with the opposing team pinned often enough.
The higher the stud hopes, the more weight added to the dud column. Thus, Jones, Barkley, Thomas get my vote. Maybe Jones is a bit unfair, because at this point, stud is more a hope than an expectation, and his OL/Barkley did him no favors.

This is why I lean toward not signing either. Just go for Rebuild. I realize though it will be a hard thing for Giants to do.
1-- Jones isn't that good.
2--- Barkley on a team not very talented on a 2nd contract isn't a very appealing option.
3--- The WR's suck. The best they have is a high end number 4 WR in Slayton.
4-- The Defense is overrated.
This all sounds like "Rebuild."

Then why would you have singled out a 4th string guard?
He was not bad. Coming out of training camp the idea was never to have Holmes matching up with another team’s WR1. Injuries put him in a position he should not be in and he made some plays, but lost more than he won. Hard to call him a dud for that.
The biggest concern is Saquon looks gassed, he left more plays on the field in one game than I've seen from him in entire seasons.
Our OL wasn't great and they stunk in pass pro, but they weren't that bad in the run game.
Also what happened to DJ running the ball? Multiple times there were pull opportunites. I don't know if it's bad reads or there is no read and auto give but are we saving it for down the stretch or something?
Its so wide open at times at this point its a legitimate question.
Lets cut AT a bit of slack here....
I saw 1 play that AT clearly got beat on by Parsons....The others were more break down of the pocket in general.

Defense running on fumes
Has a few holes but no adoree, McKinney, ojulari, , no 3rd DT to keep the two studs frets even an Arob or beavers to contribute. DJ Davidson too. Think he has some 3d DT potential
Definitely drafting from 7 next yr. We should have 11 picks. Maybe 8-9 after a targeted trade up. Definitely DT and ILB on list, along with another CB
On offense, load up on wr
FA fill in the gaps. A rotational DT, decent ILB or 3rd cb should break bank

The problem is that the Offense stinks. It stunk even on their winning streak. And The best player is a RB in which he is going to be on his 2nd contract. And if you sign Jones - then he needs “a Barkley type" while our Barkley is a huge risk year-to-year. And both these guys are going to want "money." And by the way, Slayton may want to bolt too. Frankly, I think he stinks but he is the best we have. DO we overpay for him too even though it wouldn’t be much? My point is that he is not good even though he isn’t awful.
The Giants Interior OL stinks. The Giants Receivers stink. The Tight End could certainly use at least a backup upgrade, and Barkley is an injury waiting to happen while Jones we’re unsure what he is.
As a result, you have to invest quite a bit in the Offense. One of the top 2 picks has to be WR, doesn’t it? And another pick in 3rd round if into taken in round 2? But Giants need two WR’s early, don’t they?
A lot still needs to be done with the Offense and as a result, you can't put much into the Defense. Philly and Dallas seem loaded. Where do you think The Giants are going?
For The Giants to break in with these two, everything needs to go perfect. But taking a step back - Jones is limited. Barkley long-term is limited. And there is nothing else surrounding them on Offense worth a damn other than 1 most probably two OT's.
And if you don’t have a solid plan to take down both of these teams near-term, then what’s the point with a 2nd contract for Barkley considering his position?

At least three and all the same move - speed rush to the outside.
Even the INT he caused, he committed PI and they didn't call it.
I'm not going to crucify the guy, he's doing the best he can, but nothing about his game was OK. It's not like he was a force on the blitz or vs. the run. He's just a guy getting abused.
