This is a not a knock on Saquon, but as a business decision going forward, is it wise to invest long term in Saquon with the tread on his tires and the injury history or consider someone like Pollard, who will also be a free agent and has considerably less wear and tear. Pollard's best football might be in front of him, while Saquon's may not. Even someone like David Montgomery will be available. I love Saquon and he is the face of the franchise, but committing big money to him might not the best for the franchise. I am glad I don't have to make the call on him or Jones as they are both really tough ones to be honest. The thing with Jones is, where is the adequate replacement? There are plenty of options at RB.
thats what I think too. either way not good to invest too much money at RB. rather spend that money on the best interior olinemen
This offense runs through #26- but it’s clear they are a bit too reliant on him. And defenses know that- they are keying on the run game and flying downhill. A lot harder to run the ball when the defense doesn’t have to worry about getting beat through the air.
#1 priority this off-season has to be addressing the WR position. Open things up for #26.
I’d also target a RB in R3/4. They need a guy who can take pressure off Saquon- 31 carries vs Chicago, 35 vs Houston…that’s far too many. But the drop off from Saquon to Breida/Brightwell is too significant. They need a guy like Pollard was for Elliott his first few years- or Hunt for Chubb, etc.
As great as Saquon is (I still think he is), the NFL is a 2 RB league. If they can get him closer to 17-18 carries per game and 60- 65% of snaps, he’ll be a much more effective runner and his burst will be more consistent
The guy hit 21mph on a run vs Houston- trust me it’s still there.

Good post
Draft a late round RB every year and hope one surprises. That is the ticket.
Saying you’d never sign a RB to a second contract is group think and provides nothing to discuss. It also completely ignores how cheap the position is now.
The Giants should he talking to Barkley about an extension and A
Schoen should have a threshold he doesn’t go over. I don’t want a GM that says no to something without even exploring options.
Do you not remember saqouns rookie year? Pre ACL he was the most exciting rb the league has seen since BS. I think the pick was the right play. But he looks toast right now - sucks to see.
But he is a good example of the RB supply the exists and is available in the pros and college. And that's the reason.
