Yesterday's Turkey ruining result aside for a moment and yes the 2nd half was bad, but consider what we did for 30 minutes yesterday. Our top 3, THREE CBs were out, our top S was out and their replacements were a Jets castoff in Jason Pinnock, two rookies in Dane Belton and Cordale Flott and Bills castoff Nick McCloud. On a short week, on the road, Jerome Henderson got that bunch of kids and castoffs ready to go up a loaded Dallas offense. Notably, Flott and McCloud were sticky in the first half, only losing out to Gallup and Lamb because of size, experience and overall physical ability. An argument can be made that if healthy, Adoree, Aaron Robinson and Fabian Moreau make those plays that Flott and McCloud couldn't.
The fact that we didn't get run out of that building is a testament to the best position coach we have and who may be the best DB coach in the entire league. Adoree Jackson and Fabian Moreau have played their best ball under him this season, they look like totally different players under his tutelage. It's rough out there right now, but take solace in knowing that Henderson is not only a great teacher, but a great talent evaluator and our DB future with him here is rock solid.
Makes you wonder how our LB are being used. A poor performing unit, and we’ve relegated Coughlin and Cam Brown to special teams only. Coughlin got some run with the inside backers in preseason. Not sure who coaches that unit… but McFadden has looked so lost out there. Smith is hit or miss, same with Crowder. Big reason our run d is so poor.
CB is a glaring hole, but I think the Giants will place a high priority on a 3-down MLB who can run. The Ravens always seem to have one. They're tough to get - but they can easily upgrade what they have now, which will help.
so often even the announcers commented how good the coverage was. To me the key is the players were well-coached, but just physically mis-matched which is kind of obvious and aligns with the OP.
which is why Holmes covering Lamb to me is not on Holmes like most wanted to blame. Holmes, IMO, just is not a good matchup vs Lamb. But given the circumstances he was probably the best option.
In the past we would see massively confused players all over the field, blown coverages, and wide open receivers, which was not the case yesterday.
I haven't seen enough of Coughlin to give a complete answer, but for starters he's too slow. Seeing who's getting the playing time, I'd have to think he's even slower than McFadden.

From giving him more playing time as ILB. Too slow, too small, poor or slow recognition? He deserves a look.

not in 40 time, at least not per combine/pro days.
Regardless the ILB needs more talent, even at backup.
Life, Death, Taxes, The Giants being injured and also weak at ILB and covering TE's
