Point remains, Gallant and his coaches need to go. Drury should be fired, but he won't because Lil' Jimmy doesn't give a shit. Drury is going to be here for the next 15 years like Sather. This team needs a fucking wake-up call and to be held accountable.
Is the cab big enough for Gallant, Drury, Tom Thibodeau, and Leon Rose? Because they can all go piss up a rope.
Dumpster fire organization and a horrific owner. Fuck this team.
- turned the puck over after slight pressure by tossing it aimlessly at the Ranger bench, almost causing a too many men penalty
- then doing little as the Oilers took the puck down the left side, got dekked, and stood there as Shesty gave up the soft goal off the post.
They did this same exact shit at home against the Islanders a few weeks ago.
Giving the Ducks their first regulation win last game was the worst loss up until this this afternoon

Not to defend Trouba on that play, he should have taken the puck back into the zone and set up behind the net to let his team change, but he's about 4th on the list of whose fault that goal was.
first, you can trace I don't know 50% or more of goals to turnovers in transition or lost faceoffs. This one Kakko turned it over right over the blue line leading to the transition, second, the whole line went to change after the turnover (and lackadasically I may add), third, Where the F is Miller? He should be at best parallel to Trouba but normally deeper in his own zone to give Trouba an outlet, fourth, how the F should Trouba know which of these guys is coming on or getting off the ice, fifth, Trocheck knows he is the one who made eye contract with Trouba, play the puck - he sits there and watches it, lastly it was a great shot but Igor can't get beat short side on that shot.
this is the one view I think if you are Trouba (and again the play was to take it into your zone, maybe behind the net, and set up, but that's not the only play and it's not why they scored), so he deserves some blame, but that's a lot to put on solely on one player - this breakdown consumed a ton of players.
In this view you can see Trocheck make eye contract with Trouba and Miller giving him no outlet on the D to D. And I hate to tell you, if you wind this back it's too many men and has nothing to do with Trouba.
it's all downhill from there.
Don’t remind us
Somewhat. Dolan pretty much put forth a directive that they had to make the playoffs (Drury denied it in a sheepish kind of way). Well, they played exceptionally well last year, made it to the Eastern Conference Finals and the rebuild was accelerated. By the time the last offseason came around, the rebuild was considered finished. We expected giant leaps from Kakko, Lafreniere, K'Andre, Chytil, among others. We had a top-3 goalie in the world in Igor, a top-3 defenseman in Fox, three all-star caliber forwards in Panarin, Zibanejad, and Kreider and we signed another top-6 guy in Trocheck.
And then this year came along and it all went awry. Kakko and Laf look like busts given where they were drafted. K'Andre has taken a step back. Panarin has not scored in seemingly forever. Kreider and Zibanejad have also struggled to score (Zibanjead has most of his goals on the PP).
So like any other sport, who do you blame for underperformance? The coach.

Reality
Ps - if the season ends today, the Rangers are still in the playoffs. But Yeah, fire everyone!
No. No. No. Well, yeah. Last year you were out of your mind if you thought they'd go to the SCF, even though they were up 2-0 in the Eastern conference finals. It was something to build on for the future, and that future is now.
Or wait ... Are they still rebuilding?
I cannot keep up with these wise legends. Thoughts and lessons to be learned on BBI. The land of knowledge.
Don't expect. Nice little run. Yup. Temper your expectations.

Oh yeah. Forgot over achieving. Thank you.
He's not 70 giving out life lessons. He sounds good to me.
The Rangers acquired two key players at the trade deadline last year, Vatrano and Copp. They lost those players in free agency.
Their replacements have not performed. They're playing a utility player on the top line. Their #9 draft choice Kravtsov, has been injured and has been scratched lately because he brings nothing to the table.
As much as I would love to join any party where we are throwing dirt on the Rangers, it is beyond silly to think this is a lost season for them at this point. Their actual level probably lies somewhere between SCF and borderline playoff team.
Are they in the beginning or the middle of their rebuild?

To rub it in but Jack Hughes just got a hat trick. Devils up 4-0 with 10:00 to go
Are they in the beginning or the middle of their rebuild?
Does it matter?
What are the Rangers this year?
What are the Rangers this year?
Not sure how far Devils will go. Much like Giants, after years of futility, this early part of season has been a joy to watch. I think the organization has adapted to the new faster paced scoring NHL. Will it translate into postseason success? I’m not sure. No one on the team tops 195 lbs. A game like last night versus Capitals, if played in a 7 game series, might not bode well for Devils. Physicality is something a team cannot avoid in the playoffs. They need an enforcer via trade IMO. Miles Wood is about as “enforcer” as they get.
What are the Rangers this year?
Another Rangers group I'm in pointed out that the team coming back and beating Pittsburgh in the first round got people into believing this team was really better than they were.
The Rangers should honestly look to move Panarin. It may seem unpopular, but despite his gaudy assist numbers, he does not battle for pucks in corners, and is way too much of a finesse player whose $11M contract is the highest on the team.
