They’ll probably never become the Nebraska of old. Would Nebraska fans accept being 9-3/8-4 every year as a turn around?
Fair question. In the short-term I'd say yes, but long-term probably not especially the alleged resources they are putting into strengthening the NIL program and program itself. We'll see what happens.
unless he thinks he can win the Big 10. It may take a few years but I would be surprised if they are not at least playing in the championship game.
They have great resources at Nebraska and the AD was a player back when Nebraska was Nebraska. He is not going to settle for mediocrity or having the ceiling of that program being 9 wins imv.
I expect Rhule will get strive to get back to the programs roots. Outstanding OL play and great defense.
are Husker fans, and are MEH on the signing.
The team is not likely to go back to the glory days of the full house backfield and student body left, or not sign a kid from Nebraska like Callahan did, but the alumni are willing to throw everything at the program to capture what’s been missing for most of 22 years: 9-11 season wins and championships.
To his credit, Rhule can build a winner, and the NIL can facilitate recruiting.
That said: GO BLUE!

I think this is a stepping stone job. Get Nebraska back on track and he’ll have his choice of jobs. You can’t tell me he’s going to settle down in freakin Nebraska. And recruiting is not going to be easy there
He will do better in college. Will they ever be what they were. Nope but they will be much better under him w what those millions can get him. He’s a college coach and needs to stay there

I guess that could be the case. We will see. Nebraska is a pretty special place. It is the biggest thing in the state and if he can restore that program I can see him sticking around a while.
Big 10 needs more competitiveness overall so hopefully he can accomplish this at least.
College football is better when the traditional powers
are in contention. College football is worse when only the traditional powers are in contention, and when it's the same schools at the top every year.
Alabama being on top every year, bad. USC and Michigan back in the hunt, good. And I am not a fan of either school. Corollary: Oklahoma having a down year, good. School having up years and down years, good.
Would love to see the UAlbany Great Danes (ahem) in the top 25 and make it to a bowl game.
They had a guy in Pellini who won 9 or more games 7 years in a row and couldn’t wait to get rid of him. Repeating the same thing as when they had F. solich who was fired after going 58-19 in 6 years
The issue is will that be good enough for them. It should be, and maybe catch magic every couple of years. They are not ever going back to being in the National Championship conversation every year
They are never going to be able to recruit better than Ohio St, Michigan, Penn State but they could get back to being the best team in the West division and try to get to the conference championship regularly
The biggest need they have and is now running on almost a decade is their OL/DL. They get pushed around on both sides of the ball. They produce so little talent in the trenches now
I have been a Nebraska fan since the days of I M Hipp

That's in line with my take as well.
I wonder how much, if any, will Nebraska take on or does Rhule pocket all of the $40MM on top of what he's being paid at Nebraska?
