1- Is there any way one can see one of the top 2 QB's in this year's draft having an A. Rodgers type drop? Both Stroud and Young have their warts!
2- A thought and a question, my thought this year is the Giants try to stockpile picks for a run at one of the top QB's in next year's draft (2024), anyone like this idea as it will set us back further in our rebuild.
3- What is the strength of the draft in 2023?
S in first round would be a reach, but quality players in round 2 and 3
ILB we could find our guy with our second round pick, I see 3 guys in that range
EDGE is very deep, starting at the very top unlike CB
DL one is very very strong but the group is average at best
IOL is average, no first rounder type there
T Not top heavy but very deep class, 7 in the top 50
TE one GOD and a few others, 4 in the top 100
WR I like this group, the best WR in college is not in this list but still we have lots of choices, round 1, 2 or 3, you can bet we will draft one, someone with size I guess
RB strong class, don't draft 1 round 1
QB strong at the top then a drop 3 potential top 10

Good write up Charles
Best QB in football is Caleb Williams who isn’t draft eligible
I said this prior to season starting
This draft is good. Not great and not a lot of depth
Good year for giants to trade down and earn capitol for 2024
Although they must absolutely get at least one or two WRs
Rasheed Rice
AT Perry
Jalen Hyatt
Cedric Tillman
Are my choices with Quentin Johnston gone by the time giants draft
Later rounds. Rakeem Jarrett. Dontaviiys Wicks
ILB is a definite yes ( wanted Leo chenel instead of Flott this yr)
We have enough holes that just 4-5 guys who can be yr 1 contributors would work for me
Fill in a couple holes with some smart mid tier FA signings too
ILB, 3rd cb, IOL and TE could be in a smart range
WRs, qbs and such just way too expensive in FA
Wr getting like a qb, I gotta hit them in draft and get 4 yrs from them cheap
2 - Possible, Caleb looks like the man. A few others emerging as well.
3 - WR! We'll be well-positioned here. I can't wait.
This team needs interior O line,Inside lb, wr, ….

The only QB under contract next year is Tyrod Taylor.
I claim no expertise but QB Penix from Washington might be worth one of our round 3 picks if he lasts that long.
I can see it with Young given his size. I mean there has never been someone his size that has been taken in the first round. Even Kyler Murray was taller and stronger. Young will not be everyone's cup of coffee and BTW, that may include Daboll and Schoen. Remember who they had in Buffalo... Stroud I think will go top-5. I think he has Texans written all over him. Davis Mills is the shits.

I mean you always want to build for the future, but no one knows what the 2024 Draft will look like. Drake Maye could fall flat. Caleb Williams could get injured...It's awfully risky. The only sure thing is Marvin Harrison Jr. :P
"3- What is the strength of the draft in 2023?"
Deep RB and WR classes; I think 3 OTs have a chance to go in the top-10 (Paris Johnson Jr., the Penn State kid and the Northwestern kid)
Ehhhh. I've seen Mingo drop the ball more than I would like.
Addison...ehhhh. I mean I like his explosion, but I think he would work best in the slot and we have Wan'Dale (even though he's injured).

That might be worth a pick?

Penix has been absolutely fantastic this season. I've loved what I've seen from him. The problem is his injury history. He was often banged up at Indiana (I'm not sure if he ever finished a season healthy).
If healthy, Penix is a legit QB prospect. He has the arm talent, mobility, accuracy and IQ to be a potential starting QB in the NFL. However, the guy is made of glass.
My favorite two QB sleepers are:
Grayson McCall of Coastal Carolina (he's injured right now)
Michael Pratt of Tulane
Other guys who I like, but not as much are KJ Jefferson, Bo Nix (who has really surprised me. The guy was ass at Auburn, but he's been very good for Oregon), Cam Rising and Devin Leary. And while I'm not a fan, I guarantee you there will be a few QB coaches/OCs who believe in DJ U.
The problem for us is that if we don't take a QB this year, then we essentially have to take one in 24. You can't wait forever. It's possible, maybe even likely, that we have a worse record next year (I think we'll be a better team though). So maybe there's a path to getting high up in that draft. The other possibility is - if we don't like anybody we can get in 23, do we trade our pick for 24 draft picks to give us more ammo to move up?
they will need one in the 2024 draft if thats the case
Keep repeating your wish and maybe Santa will reward you for being a good boy.
In the meantime, the grownups can continue to acknowledge that there is absolutely no certainty for DJ yet (and that any of the signals that have been sent so far haven't been especially favorable for DJ to date: declining his option, not negotiating in season the way Schoen has with other impending FAs, etc.).

ILB is a tricky one for me since there's a lot of variety with MIKE linebackers and whether or not they'd fit with Wink. Wink will sometimes blitz them, but others he'll take them off the field on passing downs; it's rare for them to drop into coverage. Would we be looking for a Jack Lambert-type who can drop into coverage up to 30 yards downfield or a Harry Carson type who was a thumper but came off the field on passing downs?
