Think about it this way: You're on the road. That stacks the odds against you a little bit in OT. And now you have one play to end it. I like the thinking, though I admit it's risky outside of just the football implications.

I think the Chargers were controlling the play in the 4th quarter despite not scoring until the end, figure they would still control play in OT.
The Chargers call was a bit tougher to make I’m sure, but talk about a team that’s just been kind of blah so far this year. Their HC probably figured today was as good a time as any to jumpstart his team.
