this season. I didn’t know what to think after they didn’t have much competition for the first four games. They really stepped up against tougher opponents though. If they stay healthy, they can make a big run this season.
opposing teams. As long as the Guard play can keep up I really like their potential. The 2022 tourney left such a bad taste in my mouth, it’s nice for that to be fully gone, this is a much better team.

This team shoots the 3 much better than last year's team.
But you are right about the guards. As Calhoun used to say "give me two good guards and I'll take my chances."

Calhoun almost always had good big men though, lol. but yeah he loved his guards.

With a combined 6 points from arguably their best two players is ridiculous. Karaban and Clingan are so much better than I thought they’d be. Most disappointing player has been Alleyne. He plays great defense but he was a noted scorer out of Va Tech. Seems to be a confidence issue right now. Hopefully he will snap out of it.
Looking forward to getting Samson back as well.

We have, but Guard play wins tournaments. See the 2011 team - not particularly good but Kemba and Shabazz played out of their minds in the tournament, and Lamb was right behind them. The perimeter defense against Kentucky in particular is what really stands out about that run.

In complete agreement.
Kahlid El-Amin and Rip Hamilton in '99 and some say Ricky Moore's D was the unsung hero. - now that team was really good, but IIRC were pretty big underdogs to Duke.

Oh, this isn't a hockey thread? My bad. Carry on. ;-)
Seriously, though, it's nice to see them doing well.
