Just found out about this .... heartwarming story and tribute to Sean Taylor and had to share this. Didn't seee this posted and will not delete if German.
What a classy organization that the Redskins are. I mean Commanders.

Lmao...
There are plenty of tragic football deaths... just look at the Giants alone.
But these players' jerseys are still not the #1 selling jersey among the fan bases.
Did you click the video? Honoring isn’t weird - the aesthetics of this tribute are strange.
Just seems like Danny Boy didn’t want to shell out for bronze.
Good player, yes. He is getting treated like an all time great and he wasn't. He played 3.5 seasons. If they want to honor Darrell green, I get it. Joe Gibbs? Absolutely. You can go down a very long list of all time greats that played for Washington that deserve more recognition and honor than Sean Taylor.
This is not meant as a knock against him, tragically his life and career was cut short. What could have been.

The anniversary of a fan favorite who tragically had their life cut short? Guy was a really good player.

If they Giants continued their losing ways of the last decade for another 30 years like Washington, who knows whose jersey fans would flock to?
He played for four years in Washington on teams that never won a playoff game.
I've never seen Giants fans fawn over any player like Sean Taylor, and that includes Lawrence Taylor.
And Boston fans don’t mention Bias almost ever. They’ve had many others to take his place.
So maybe fans prop him up to a level higher than he would have achieved, but that's ok with me even if it's strange to us.
It's kind of like how Red Sox fans treat Tony Conigliaro.
I do agree that it's weird that his jersey is the #1 selling jersey still. I think it speaks more to the team's lack of success.
Derrick Thomas had a Hall of Fame career. I wonder how his jersey sells relative to today's Chiefs players.
Very weird.

I don't think you can compare to any team that has a bona fide superstar QB, or even a young QB on the come. I'm sure Mahomes is the top selling jersey for KC, and I'd be willing to bet that RG3 jerseys outsold Taylor's early in RG3's career. I also wouldn't be surprised if Cousins' Washington jerseys outsold Taylor's while he was their QB1.
Similarly, Eli was far and away the most popular jersey during his time with the Giants, but if the Giants had been cycling the QB wasteland for much of that time instead, I could easily imagine LT or even Strahan being the top selling Giants jersey.
I'm still reading posts to this day thay he was far better than Ed Reed, Dawkins and Troy Polamalu.

It was certainly an awful tragedy, which significantly helped elevate his status to a ‘certain’ hof’er. He was an excellent safety, but is talked about like he was equivalent to a prime Ronnie Lott.

Iirc, he played in the division at the same time as Dawkins and Roy Williams. Those guys were pretty well-established veteran talents. I don't remember Taylor being considered better than them while he played. Possibly more violent, but not better.
