Hi all-
Someone mentioned (and a few agreed) that in the BBI Game Reviews - they skip the game recap and move right to the player analysis.
To be blunt with myself - I know I am more of a scout that is trying to write. I am not a writer that is trying to scout. Professional journalists are much better at that than I am. Completely aware of that.
Personally - writing the game recap is a time/word suck (give or take 1,200 words) and I could switch the format up if you (and Eric) agree it would be better content for you to read. Here are 3 options and any opinions would be welcomed. I have thick skin - you can be real.
A) Keep it as is.
B) Take away Game Recap - add a bit more to Player Analysis
C) Instead of a Game Recap - write the 3 most influential / turning points of the game. This mayget dicey and cause unnecessary disagreements / fights - but maybe could add more discussion.
I am all ears, thanks.
Thanks for all you do, Sy!
Thank you.
I vote for B also
I would also appreciate some analysis of what went right/wrong on critical plays, or where any given player flubbed, or did stellar. We all see the results of a play, but some of us don't know why on occasion, especially if critical action is happening off the TV screen (for example, on TV, we can't see if receivers are getting open, or if coverage is getting beat, IF that action isn't involved in the pass thrown)
For historical purposes, game recaps can probably be found online somewhere.
and the game recap does seem to basically reproduce a lot of what eric writes immediately following the game.
so there is a bit of redundancy there with the current format.
Thank you Sy!!
I like reading about player groups. Definitely keep studs and duds.
But you’re the boss so I appreciate your insight and want you to know I appreciate it.
I skip the game recap and go straight to the player analysis. Appreciate your work. Do what is best for you.
As a side note- I really like the 3 things section for the other team and for the Giants at the end.
Thanks for all you do Sy. It is greatly appreciated.
I look forward to your recap and analysis. Keep up the goos work.
And as has been said don't let some of the idiots here turn you off. You do a great job that's really appreciated!

turning points are a great idea because they exist in every game and are sometimes quickly forgotten. Hodgins fumble vs. Detroit, Hutchinson's INT, Barkley's 4th down drop, etc.
