I am sorry if this has already been posted. I did a quick skim and didn't see anything yet.
I noticed this when the schedule came out, but it didn't get much (or any) notice.
This week we play Washington on a mini bye week, and we're at home, so we have a rest advantage.
But the following week, Washington has a bye, and then plays us again at home the week after that. I don't think I've ever seen a team play the same team back to back with a bye in between, which lets them spend 2 weeks restudying the same team they just played.
Another disadvantage comes if the NFL decides to schedule the 2nd Washington game on Saturday, giving us a short 6 day week to play a team coming off a bye.
The giants/commanders game is one of 5 games that are eligible to be played on Saturday. Three of them will played on Saturday, the other two on Sunday.
If anything we may get flexed into primetime.
I'd love a Saturday game.
Flex Scheduling Procedures - ( New Window )
First game should be first half of season, second should be second half. Allows for more fairness in regards to injuries, or hot/cold streaks.

Other issue with scheduling I had was with the Dallas game. How do you schedule a Division game on a short week. I get it, teams will all play a Thursday game, but against a Division opponent on the road?! That doesn’t appear fair to me either. Dallas never travels on Thanksgiving either.
Im hoping it stays in SUnday the 18th or is the 1PM game on Saturday the 17th as I have plans on that Saturday evening and would miss it

NFL started with more division games at end of year so that division races were still in place and the games meant something. I forget when, but I think it's been a few years
Important differences from that era:
) There were fewer teams;
) Each team played fewer games per season;
) There was no bye week;
) There were no playoffs, no Super Bowl, only the NFL Championship Game;
) There were no divisions, only two conferences.

it's shoddy scheduling to have division games (same teams) so close together. Same goes for a lesser extent for Philly/Giants.

I agree with both of these posts. With the NFL being a multi-billion dollar operation, they could come up with a better algorithm for scheduling. Hell, jsut even using more common sense would be helpful. I am not a fan of Thursday games given the very short week. Why not have teams play Thursdays after a bye week? They would not have an entire two weeks between games but I think it would be better than the very short week. There is no reason they couldn't make that happen.
