how was that not offsides? I don't quite understand the rule
When the pass came into Dest, he was onsides and when he headed it to Pulisic, he was also onsides. It would be offsides if they were the ahead of the final defender.

now has to play more aggressively, which will hopefully create more opportunities for the U.S. I'd like to see Wright and Reyna as substitutions, and maybe a substitute for Pulisic if he's in any way inhibited.
playing with a one goal lead and protecting it. Berhalter has to step out of character and play aggressive.
Holden often has solid observations, but his rant on US in the final third wearing down Iran's back line is silly, as if US is not expending as much or more energy in forcing the pressure. To me that was the difference vs Wales, not that we went into a shell, but that the mids wore down, were tired, allowing Wales to even out the game.
Our MF has outplayed every team we've played, in 1H. Now comes the challenge.

Correct. They need to press their advantage now. This is where their youth can potentially can come back to bite them.
some substitutions. Some of our heavy touches may be because of fatigue. We also ran a lot in the first half as someone noted to create chances, and are running a lot now because Iran has to be more aggressive.

sure what Berhalter is doing. The game is 70 minutes old and we've only made two substitutions, and one of those was for an obvious injury. Our players are tired. Fatigue could easily result in the U.S. conceding a goal.
hate this strategy of just packing it in defensively to protect a 1-0 lead. It's like a "prevent defense" in football when you're only ahead by a touchdown. We're just giving Iran the ball.

Roj
Exactly.
Just watching box scores this doesn't seem to be true. ENG-Wales even look almost as one sided as this.
Basically. The technology is uncanny. Gotta time these runs JUST right with this Stark tech shit, lol.
Because they have the tech that gives you automatic instantaneous calls

you go. Nice finish by Pulisic, and a good through ball. Hope Pulisic is OK.
Looks like he got hit in the nuts
Think so.

All Iran needs is a draw and they're through if the England-Wales score of 2-0 in favor of England holds.
need.
Ramin Rezaeian was trying for an academy award there, lol.
Magic spray.
Yup.
