i'm interesting to see how they use Barkley from this Sunday on. If he was managing the shoulder injury that he got in the Packers game, then it would be understandable as to why he hasn't been himself lately. But he did rush for 152 against Houston...so there's that. 110 against Jax and 83 against Baltimore.
This might be a weird take, but I think Daboll's "the season starts now" comment is very telling about how he was possibly just trying to get through these last 2-3 games without any more big injuries and have guys completely ready for the final 6 game stretch run.

If he were concerned about injuries, he wouldn't have Jackson returning punts. Fair catch them maybe but actually returning punts is not smart. After McKinney getting hurt on the bye week this is by far the worst decision Daboll has made right after going for it on 4th and 1 down one point on the NYG 45.
This team needs to run the ball and hit the QB consistently vs. Washington. Thank God we are getting Azeez back and our OL might be getting healthiier.
Going for it there was the right call IMO. They had the play call. Bad throw/bad catch. If they punt there, Dallas likely just goes down and scores anyway. The defense had just been on the field for awhile on that extended drive.
it really sucks that we don't even know if McKinney is coming back at all this season, let alone for the last 4-5 games of the year.
You'll be lucky to see him by week 14..So I would not count on seeing him any time soon. I'd bet it was more than just broken fingers. Probably some skin damage too.
Purely speculation on my part.

We will have to disagree. We gave Dallas a very short field and at least 3 points. I really like Daboll and yes the playcall was there but on the road, early 3rd quarter, down only 1 point with a ton of game to play, you NEED Dallas to earn the points. Add to this, they took too long to decide to go for it, got to the LOS late and actually only had 10 players on the field. It was a shit show. Punt the ball, play field position and maybe the defense gets a stop or a turnover or holds them to a FG.

Biggest issue would be his limitations for int.

The question is , will it be worth playing a DB with a hand in a cast. I'm not convinced it's worth bringing him back. if he can't use that hand at all, then thats tough re: tackling etc.

Daboll said today will be a full pads practice. A rarity. He said they held a full pads practice before the Texans game. I must have missed that because the last full pads practice I noted was in Week 3.
The Giants clearly have an issue with injuries. It seems to be a bunch of different factors including the turf, diagnosis, recovery time, judgement on return.
still miffed that the Giants medical staff let Ezeudu back into a game with a neck injury where he apparently made it worse.
You do realize players tell the med staff anything to get back into the game and sometimes the pain goes away with adrenalin until after the game.
If Josh said he was good to good, then why would they hold him back.

As far as Lemieux - he was off three months...
Isn't the point of the medical staff specifically to make the decision to protect the players from themselves?
The Giants medical situation has been a disaster for
a very long time. Either we have the worst luck in the world or we are doing something wrong. Since I am not there and not privy to this information, I really don't know, but I would bet the latter.
I mean Philadelphia is crying because they lost Gardner-Johnson and Goeddert. We would love to have their injury problems.
where this is going with Lemieux.. He's done for the season.
They fucked with him last year with he knee (didn't have him get surgery, put him back in, made it worse) and I'm see the same trajectory now with the toe.
It is either incompetence or the worse luck in the word (like Essex said). With Data, tech and Analytics it would seem this should not keep happening. I really hope it is not a money thing. Or a nepotism or “friends” thing. My recollection is old school NFL works with friends on stuff like this. They should be proving they are working with best available medical people on these issues

#Giants Brian Daboll exploring all OL options, including starting both centers Nick Gates and Jon Feliciano. One would be the fifth different starting left guard
So three months sitting with a toe, finally cleared, and you want to blame the medical staff?
It's a TOE.
Do you know what they do for a broken toe....nothing. It heals on its own.
What did you want them to do, put it under a microscope? They felt is was ready and it re-injured it. Chances are if he had sat out until Week 17 he would have hurt it there.
It's not even debatable that the medical staff screwed up with Lemieux's knee last year. That's off the table. So defending them over that just shows you are shilling for the organization.
The toe? Could be turf toe. Whatever it was, he obviously wasn't ready to play or he is just an unlucky bastard who hurt another toe (highly unlikely).
Don't blame the medical staff for new injuries, but they are fair game for mishandling old ones.

The JE neck injury is the bigger issue here. If he was bad enough to not be playing to start then going in later was a downright crime. Neck injuries can be career threatening very easily.

Daboll was asked if Lemieux's injury is the same toe that landed him on IR. "Yeah, it’s his toe. I think we’re trying to be smart with him. I know he wants to be out here, but we’re trying to do right by the player, too."
What about Bredeson? Hopefully this means glowinski is benched. Still suprised no one mentions this horrible signing by our GM. Most teams knew he was dog water and stayed away. Sign anyone but him.

I'm sure it's the same toe.....if he's not ready to play now he wasn't going to be ready to play for the entire 2022 schedule, that should be obvious.
I would say rather than being unlucky, he's just now become injury prone playing with the big boys now. This isn't Oregon. It happens.

Sight seeing tour... the Tijuana edition. Have a bad feeling the timeframe will be longer. Sounds like he did a lot of damage.
They put two guys back into a game who re-injured themselves within 30 minutes.
Sounds like every Giant on the roster. And Ezeudu I believe finished the game. Everyone wanted him in to play. What can you do. At least he tried - and was pretty bad.
By now they should know Lemiuex will do everything to play and while his courage and willingness to play is commendable, they need to protect him from himself. Instead he's just now always hurt.
They should just put him on the shelf and give him one more chance next year with no guarantee of making the roster.
Amputate the f'n toe. It's not like he needs it, fgs. He'll be back in a week and never have to worry about it again. JPP is playing without 3 fingers and Shaq Griffin played with one hand. That's what Gates would do :)

now , at nearly 59, I have a cheilectomy on it and it probably naturally fusing itself may consider a fake big toe joint down the road they have them but i dont know the data yet on how well they work i still pound it but i feels like I put my toe thru a meat grinder for a day after I do
sounds like he had a pretty traumatic fracture to require pin fixation... and it's fairly common for pins to remain in place 5-6 weeks postoperatively.
I am not expecting him back, if at all, until the last week or two of the season.

And also so disappointed by Xavier.
Two self inflicted wounds.
"Kalil averaged 19.1 yards on 16 punt returns and was one of just four players in nation to return two punts for touchdowns during 2021 season"
