listening to some of the comments in regards to the Giants recent games, that they are on a slide, the lack of talent is catching up with them, they won't make the play offs, written off etc etc etc
But yet nobody is saying they played Cowboys tough with a basically depleted team or that they are hanging in there with what they have.
And nobody is saying the Giant will be better once they get their starters back at relevant positions.
It's as if they are judging them as a full strength team that lost to the cowboys, seattle etc.
Or do they know something we don't ?
Once we get some significant players back, hopefully for this Sunday, we will be much better, more potent at opening holes and pass blocking and able to move the ball significantly better and get those completions going again.
I hope Sunday brings around a much healthier and stronger team especially on offense
Go Giants!
I am sort of with you there - at least this year. They had good chances to beat the Cowboys and let it slip away.
Yep. It's admirable and a testament to their preparation and coaching staff that they are playing hard and competitive, but the reality is they are talent and depth deficient and their 7-2 record was largely based on a favorable schedule and some very good luck.
There's simply a level they cannot reach, and it's absolutely fine to acknowledge it.
I didnt expect them to win the Dallas game. I was happy they were in it but realistically this team cant compete game in and game out with the good teams. We still have a lot of holes. The lack of WR talent is killing this team. We have no one that scares anyone and they can play us straight up and target Barkley. If we sign OBJ that may help with a playoff push unless hes totally cooked which he may be.
A stud WR has to be top priority going into next season. We really need to start from scratch and get rid of the whole WR group.
I don’t think he was referring to moral victories regarding the cowboys game. I was using as barometer to project the rest of the season. We are looking at many players coming back that could make a significant impact

No rah rah rah on this one. I got my "moral victory" card checked sometime in the 70's. No trophies for tough participation.

+1
late flag in the 1st to take a TD offf the board. The call was questionable at best.
Then we stopped Dallas twice at midfield in the 3rd and twice the ref's threw late flags that kept the drives going and resulted in TD's
That's a 21 point swing, it's hard to win when that happens.

Jerry must be shipping some mighty expensive scotch to the refs prior to the games. Why is it they alway get the fantom call! Even the broadcasters on Sirius radio said “how could that be holding!l I believe that was Kurt Warner who loves us sooooo much. Yet he was upset at that bad call.
I would like to see how far the lineman wandered down field to get that flag… 2inches or as they say in scotch world 2 fingers. 👍🥃
I have to keep reminding myself that Schoen and Daboll are both getting on the job training at their new positions, even though they both are pretty experienced overall. Schoen has made a few mistakes but, with the resources available, some risk is expected. Daboll is just trying to find any way to win. So far, that has worked out well, most of the time. There always is more risk than reward on a 4th down play unless the team is 4th and goal. Judge certainly wouldn’t have risked it.
Other than that Dallas was mostly eating the Giants lunch
I said it at 6-1 and 7-2, the Giants would be hard-pressed to win 10 games. Expectations are bumped from low to moderate, 2022 is already a success in the bigger picture. But, this roster is clearly a season or two (and a QB) away from contention.
We should be able to shut down Matt Ryan in our building in January
Actually, a lot of people were complimenting the players and coaches for coming out prepared and playing hard.
We should be able to shut down Matt Ryan in our building in January
Huh? Both Washington games are winnable, and even the Vikings can shit the bed at times. The 2nd game against the Eagles will probably be against their backups, for at least a half. So, that's 3 1/2 to 4 1/2 winnable games, depending on which opponent shows up.

losing that game really hurt us. There's only 1 more winnable game left (Colts)

The Vikings have two losses this season: to the Eagles and to the Cowboys. Which one qualifies as shitting the bed?

The Cowboys beat the Vikings 40-3 last week.

I still don't see how that's shitting the bed. They haven't lost a game they shouldn't have, IMO. That's the way I would interpret shitting the bed.

40-3 is shitting the bed. Good teams don't lose by 37 points. They are going down the shitter.
I'm not saying the Giants beat them, but if I am a Vikings fan I'm not confident in a win against anybody right now.

Blowouts happen all the time. The Giants lost a game 49-24 in a year they won a super bowl.
It was 42- 17 in the 4th quarter before a garbage touchdown. Football is random. The Bills beat Tennessee 41-7 this year. Tennessee is 7-4 and rolling to the playoffs.
Other than that Dallas was mostly eating the Giants lunch
This.
The Cowboys were moving the ball at will and the Giants had one really good TD drive in the first half. I agree the illegal man downfield was ticky-tack and so were the Homles penalties.
But the Cowboys had outgained us significantly in the first half, and stopped shooting themselves in the foot in the second half and dominated us. Offense did nothing in the second half except for a garbage time td drive.
Even if we got the 4th and 2 conversion, it’s no guarantee that we score
anything on that drive. Offense was not exactly humming.
