Anybody know why Collins is not playing after the big announcement when we signed him. He was on the field for one game I saw, then nothing. I noticed he is on the practice squad now. Has he not been able to pick up out DC defensive scheme.
You are aware that's Collins was available to sign with any team because he was a free agent pick up during the season? It was somewhat noteworthy when he signed here because of his prior time here but he was taken off the scrap heap.
...there was nothing big about it other than the fans losing their minds about a former player resigning...
He's not the same player as 2016...in fact he's very limited and has been an inside linebacker for much of his post Giants career because he's physically not the same guy.
They signed him to the PS because Jefferson was hurt and they wanted ILB/Ss depth. They don't view him as a better player than the guys on the active roster, but he's a nice insurance policy.
I like the singing, and love Landon for what he's done...but you guys that think he's still a great safety in this league haven't been paying attention.

No, we didn’t think he was a great safety. We just thought he was better than the marginal ILB talent.

What "big" announcement???
You mean you missed the parade down the Avenue of Americas? There were peasants singing and drummers drumming and an archer split the tree. It was a big big announcement!

There was a band playin' in my head,
And I felt like getting high…
that Dabs and Co employ and the Wink preaches -- as in playing any position -- yesterday -- he was insisting that he's a safety -- and he was hired to play linebacker
There's a reason he was available as a practice squad
guy (and as a practice squad guy, remains available to, yet unclaimed by, any other team). His signing may have generated a bit more attention than a typical PS signing because of his history here (I mean, Davis Webb being brought back got some attention too), but he's still a guy of limited value at this point, and it would have to be the right situation for them to want him in a game. If he's able to contribute at some point, great. If not, I think most would find that wholly unsurprising.
