2023 GBN Draft Report All-America Team (11/29/2022)

M.S. : 11/30/2022 6:34 am

Great Blue North Draft Report has compiled their annual All-American team, "...as well as our nods to who we feel should win this year’s major awards:"

https://gbnreport.com/2023-gbn-college-football-awards/

So many good players to choose from! WR is loaded and I would love to see either Quentin Johnston (TCU) or Rashee Rice (SMU) in Blue. And while there are obvious positions where the Giants are dangerously thin (like WR), I think Joe Schoen's 2023 Draft may surprise us as to how many players he selects at the point of attack, both sides of the ball. My guess is we could see several players selected at DT, ILB, C, G and/or TE.

If the Giants commit to Jones long term

I want to see them do what they can to get "the guy" at WR and right now I'm looking at Johnson as that guy.

May change my mind when I watch some film after the season, but right now he's who I want. I'd give up assets to move up for him if need be.

I’m with you on that! He’s quite a player!!!

I see Schoen going in the other direction: WR and CB as priority 1.
Wink’s D prioritizes CB. Other than Jackson we’ve been relying on a bunch of JAGs. WR issues are obvious. TE or ILB could sneak in on day 2, but I don’t see any reinforcements for the trenches until day 3.

Unless Mayer is there when the Giants pick....I would take him in the 1st with a middle 20's pick.
I love Cedric Tillman as a prospect...

but how the hell does he make a second team AA when he played only half the season and scored 3 TDs?

The object of an AA Team is to reward players who were productive.
ok

2 Utes on the board- Clark Phillips at first team CB and Dalton Kincaid at 3rd team TE. I've been a big fan of Kincaid-smart, tough, dependable. Maybe better receiver than inline blocker, tho
I mean, if you watch...

any college football, there is no way you are putting Noah Sewell over LSU LBs Perkins and Ojulari. I was very high on Sewell after the 2021 season, but I thought he took a step back - or two - this year.

Phillips has had a very nice year at corner. About to be tested - again - on Friday when Caleb and Company come to Vegas.
Dane Brugler has Drew Sanders, LB, Arkansas

Michael Mayer! I'll take one of him. He's fantastic.
I’ll sign on to what others have said…

The TCU receiver is really, really good.

He’s not on this list, obviously, but Will Levis is interesting to me. He’s got a great arm, but I’ve never seen him play particularly well. I’m not sure what percentage of that can be blamed on the insanely conservative offense I’ve seen each time I’ve watched Kentucky. Reminds me of early years Kirby Smart. I thought he was holding UGA back by being so conservative and now it’s a completely different offense. I think Levis will have to and can wow people in his workouts.
Chase Brown would make a nice backfill for Barkley if they let him go

I think he has Pollard type explosiveness. Day 2 pick.

Maybe a DT if board lines up
But I would go 2 WRs, cb and ILB thru rd 3 if things lined up
Of course depends on the holes we plug in FA

Unless the team falters to 7-10/8-9/ or they trade up, I don’t think they get QJ.
But a 10-7 AND QJ might make for many happy BBIers.
