Argentina was living dangerously there at the end. Shades of 90 when they were barely getting by teams and made it all the way to the final to defend their title against eventual champs Germany.
Question about qualifying for World Cup

How do the qualifying World Cup conferences reconcile a player’s obligation between the pro team he plays for vs his home team country? If I’m not mistaken, the qualifying period for the 2022 World Cup started in 2019. For example, does CONCACAF only play during a certain month of the year?

If I'm understanding your question correctly - FIFA schedules breaks for international play with all pro leagues around the world - so CONCACAF qualifying games are played during the same breaks in pro leagues as are those in all the other regions of FIFA around the world.

If I'm understanding your question correctly - FIFA schedules breaks for international play with all pro leagues around the world - so CONCACAF qualifying games are played during the same breaks in pro leagues as are those in all the other regions of FIFA around the world.

They have qualifying windows where players return to their national teams to play wc qualifying matches.
